Evolution is not a real science compared to chemistry and physics. To the extent a historical science is consistent with operational science it is viable, when it makes assertions inconsistent with operational chemistry, physics, genetics, physiology, it is essentially invoking miracles. That's ok if one is a creationist, it's not ok if one claims its a naturalistic theory.

The first problem for Darwinism proceeds from astrophysics, the Faint Young Sun Paradox. One would require miracles of fine-tuned global warming to account for how the fossil record was viable given the Earth should have been a permanent ice ball. Despite fallcious claims the paradox has been solve via global warming, even assuming ANY scenario of global warming it would have to be fine tuned to correspond to the sun's increasing output over time:

The problem of Solar System evolution and atomic nucleosynthesis is a deep topic. I read the following book by NAS member Stuart Ross Taylor that was intended to defend solar system evolution. The irony is after reading it, I became a YEC because every chapter said, "this is a deep unsolved problem":
