$80?!

Just get yourself one of these, and grab a cheap 12volt USB adapter.

There is no way a car mount should be THAT expensive!

Hey I use the spigen car holder, found on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Spigen-Premium-Magnetic-Holder-iPhone/dp/B01AMGFY5M

This holds mine with no problems at all. Just slip it under your case and you are good to go.

The nice thing about this magnetic mount is that you do not need to attach a metal plate or a case or anything to the phone. The wireless charging magnets inside the phone make it stick to this mount without any issues at all. It's not a wireless charging mount, but I don't care about that to be honest.

This car charger is the one that I got based on my needs. I only have one quick charge device and that's my phone. The other two devices are an iPhone and a Bluetooth speaker. This also comes with a USB C cable for the phone.

Nova launcher for gestures.

No case or screen protector here.

I'm using adhell as an ad blocker. My home network runs pihole so not as big an issue while I'm at home which is most of the time anyway.

I'm using this mount: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01AMGFY5M/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I also got a mount for my dad from eBay for really cheap, took a month to receive and works well, but the magnet just isn't as strong.

Tasker actually has a magnetic field state you can use without too much tinkering: http://tasker.dinglisch.net/userguide/en/help/sh_index.html

Magnetic Vent Mount hands down.

I used to use the ones that clip to the sides of the phone but after I discovered the magnetic mount, there's nothing better. You can't beat the ease of the magnetic mount.

That being said, for your situation get the ones that protrude that you can adjust. i.e. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01AMGFY5M/ref=mp_s_a_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1485096433&sr=8-8&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=magnetic+vent+mount&dpPl=1&dpID=415elWSl9TL&ref=plSrch

This is the one that I have. Not sure if there's better, but this has been working well for 4 months now!

Just picked this one up today: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AMGFY5M/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Pretty sleek, slides on the AC vent, I put mine on the middle passenger side angled towards me so it's like I'm looking at the radio. Magnets are incredibly strong. didn't fall on the biggest bump in my city or potholes. Black hides with the interior nicely.

I personally use this magnetic vent mount. I have it on the driver side vent above the head unit. When I have it mounted, I just put my phone in landscape mode so it doesn't block the head unit. I don't have any issues with the mount becoming wiggly and coming off the vent by itself (I've had my car since April and have just under 5000 miles on it).

I've had this got a few weeks now, works well. It clips onto vent. I had to play around with it to prevent the vent from flopping back and forth. Tiny bit of movement around hard corners

I used something similar and it didn't adhere well due to the texture of the dash, mine even had a semi-sticky substance in addition to the suction cup. I opted to go for a vent based mount like This And it seems to work out a lot better.

Yes. I particularly enjoy the air vent mounts because I can charge my phone and actually have it charge when it is 100F out because the back is being blasted by AC. I similarly live in swamp ass territory.

Here's the mount I use: https://www.amazon.com/Spigen-Premium-Magnetic-Holder-iPhone/dp/B01AMGFY5M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1502716834&sr=8-1&keywords=spigen+magnetic+mount

It comes with a few metal plates that you can stick to the inside of your case to increase the magnetism (or directly to the back of your phone, which I do not recommend). As I said before I don't find this necessary (my phone has never slipped off the mount) as the wireless charging coils exhibit enough attraction with the magnets to hold it up.

Wiz gear or Sipgen. I use Sipgen:

My 2016 has a vent on the left by the steering wheel that’s not adjustable, so that’s where I mount it. Otherwise your phone will weigh down the vent.

I thought Spigen made their own magnet car mount thats compatible with their cases. I remember seeing it on Amazon and I was thinking about getting it for my phone since having a mount on windshield can get me pulled over in my area. I'm not sure if it's still available but I will link it here if I come across it.

EDIT: Here's the link. They seem to have a couple selections for car mounts. I hope this helps!

I always got the magnetic ones.

I have this one in my Civic

and this one in my ranger.

I just ordered this one to replace the on in my Ranger, as my new phone does iQ wireless charging

the benefit with all of these mounts is I can just toss my phone at my dashboard and it sticks, no arms to adjust, no springloaded mechanisms to go flying, I just put my steel plate between the case of my phone and the phone, and never have any issues.

As far as falling off, the one in my ranger has a pretty stout magnet, and the dashboard vibrates like crazy, I haven't ever had it fall off, and my phone is one of the heavier smart phones on the market.
