Never have I ever used a screen protector on any phone. I began carrying phones over 20 years ago (pre smartphone) when I was selling them. (holy shit that makes me feel old to say that). I'm very anal about having a clean smooth screen. In that time, I have only ever once had a screen break. It was an AT&T Captivate (Samsung Galaxy S? S2? maybe). I've had the Note 9 since release, have dropped it a number of times with no damage to the screen. I'm using a Spigen Liquid Crystal case that provides minimal protection ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FMB2ZX3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 )

Edit: All of that said, both of my daughters somehow manage to crack their screens once a year. One of them has an S9 that cracked, one had an S8 that cracked (she now has an s10 that hasn't cracked yet).

As a fellow case addict -

Not enough links in this thread!

I have the Spigen Crystal Clear one and I'm liking it: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FMB2ZX3

I have a Note 9, and use a magnetic base / window suction cup, a thin case with a magnetic plate inside and mounted at the bottom third (to not block the NFC/Pay transmitters) and magnetic USB power cord conversion, and a fast charger.

Stick the phone to the mount, stick the power cord on, done. Just grab it to get out - no buttons, unplugging, nada.

I went with this one someone posted a couple weeks before release. It was on a special of like $4, looking back, I should have bought more, haha.

But yeah, I've used all kinds of clear cases in the past and they all eventually turn yellow, some faster than others. This one is actually like the spigen clear one with the "dotted inside" so it doesn't stick to slick surfaces, so I was pleasantly surprised. For all I know the same Chinese factory produced both but one is branded with a fancy box.

I've also used the spigen neo hybrid for my S7 Edge for a long time and it was pretty good protection but a little bulkier. It turned yellow, but took a long time. I like the thin cases now, if they had a thin clear one like this where it just snaps on, I'd get it.

As for the camera part, I debated doing it also, as I liked the look without it. I figured I'd throw it on and see how it fit and figured it's just another layer of protection for the glass, so I just left it on. If that part ever peels or something, I wont be upset and I wont replace it.
