Saw something online, (Can't for the life of me find it right now, of course) where a person made their own strap on harness out of Nylon straps and buckles. Essentially, they made one of THESE.
They used one of THESE for the ring, and THESE instead of the snaps and some nylon strapping like THIS for the actual harness. They put THESE in the back to get it off and on. Basically the end user decides if it's a thong type, or a jock strap style and attaches one or two straps through the legs. Hope that helps.

You could use flat nylon webbing, two straps, and use a snap kit to add snaps to the ends. Then make an X, stitch them together at the center, and snap them around a steel or rubber o-ring of your choice, to hold the dildo. You could add strap buckles to make yoga ball size and position adjustable.

If you're interested in strapons, I can't say enough good things about my share + (optional) any simple harness. It's a little big, quite flexible but keeps its form for proper fucking, not very curved, and it's 100% silicone. It's got a flared base that rubs against the fucker's clit and it stays in well even without a strap.
If you live in a big city, make sure you're looking not just for big, warehouse-style sex shops but for ones that have a sex-positive bent like Babes in Toyland / Good Vibrations / Come As You Are. I have looked at sportsheets and also at SpareParts. The first option is much more in our budget as we are in the middle of a total house renovation and flip. We are not broke, but most of our money goes into remodel stuff for now.

Any thoughts on the above three? Or would it be better just to hold off till we can afford better. Only thing is, I don't want to hold off😉. I just know $100+ on something my wife may or may not be really into is just a bit out of range right now.

Thanks a lot for responding! I was actually looking at the slim, and I think that I'm going to go for it. As for a strap this is what I've been looking at. It looks a little cheap, but its also a first, so I'm not sure that I want to invest in a great one.
