We use these. Just throw one in the diaper before bed, he's been fine since, and he was wetting through every single night. They absorb a LOT.

We used these "booster" pads with good results. They look like sanitary pads, but they totally worked for us.
We tried the Pampers baby dry and Target brand overnight diapers and my 18 month old was still leaking 3-5 times a week (he gets rashes from Huggies). So I bought sposie pads and put one inside of a regular Pampers Pure diaper and that has been the winner for us. The Pampers Pure don’t bother his skin and they seem to run a little big so they can fit a lot of pee!

We use these diaper pads inside an Up&Up overnight diaper. Kid used to wake up with wet jammies/sheets every morning; now the pad+diaper contains everything. I like these particular pads because they don't have adhesive or a plastic backing, so when the pad is full, the pee just soaks straight through to the actual diaper itself.
My son started peeing through his overnight, sized up diaper about 9 months ago (2 years and some months). We use these booster pads that we get on Amazon with his diaper and his pajamas stay dry.

These are a game changer! My son will leak through in just a few hours with just an overnight diaper. For daytime we use the Sam's club brand or walmart brand and they seem to work just fine.
I tried pull-ups when my son started soaking through at night b/c we were already in size 6 diapers, but I found them to be much less absorbent. I think they're really designed for kids who mostly make it to the bathroom, not for those who sleep straight through while they pee all night long. Diaper with liner worked for us. (We use Bambo during the day but like the Target nighttime diapers.)
I hope I'm not giving terrible advice by advocating sticking to diapers at night for a while longer. I haven't yet explored the wonders of potty training with my son, but my understanding is that you don't have to do days and nights at the same time. And, in fact, that many kids don't stay dry at night for a long time after they're daytime trained.
(If it were me, I'd have him pee last thing before bed but then diaper him back up. When he starts waking himself at night to go to the bathroom instead of sleeping through or starts waking up dry at least some of the time is when I would switch to pull-ups.)

You are most likely already giving him a fresh diaper just before bed, how about changing him before you go to bed? This won't work if baby is a light sleeper, but maybe give it a try.
