It isn't. If you refuse to subscribe to cable and refuse to set up "rabbit ears" then you are refusing to get TV reception. There are millions of people who still get OTA reception, and for whom it is completely "practical".

I don't play with iTunes because it is a bloated nightmare, so I can't tell you if it's there or not. I'd be very surprised if it weren't, because it's available everywhere else.

Here's the thing, though: the show didn't pop up out of nothingness, like the actual cosmos. It cost money to produce. People worked damn hard for a long time to produce a top-quality product for your education and entertainment. If that isn't worth a few bucks to subscribe to cable or to buy it on Amazon, then that is your problem, not the show's.
