Good old Stanley for me. One hand drinking, the cup is sealed, stays warm forever and the lid comes apart to clean. All different sizes and go up to a gallon.

I have a Bontrager RL bottle cage and utilize this Stanley Classic Travel Mug. The plastic bottle cage hugs the bottle nicely over bumps and my coffee stays hot for longer than my commute.

Coffee thermos that doesn't leak. This is my favorite - has lasted me years.

• Others have suggested instant coffee. I did this for years. Get a nice thermos (I like this one). All you need is hot water (+ cream and sugar if you like). It sucks that you have to hide this from your family but it's easy to do so if you think it might upset them. FYI, instant coffee sucks and at this point, I'd probably only drink it if I was camping. But for someone who has only had coffee 4 times, it's probably fine.
  
• Hint: Any espresso-based drink will cost $4 or more. Espresso drinks require special equipment, and are hand-made for you. If you want to drink coffee from a coffee shop, just get a brewed coffee and add milk/sugar to your taste. This will typically cost ~$2 in a coffee shop.
  
• Hint: McDonalds has pretty decent coffee, believe it or not. Maybe not good enough for many here but for a kid who's on a budget and canl;t drink coffee at home. It;'s a good deal. And after 5 coffees, you get a free drink which you can redeem as a latte, mocha, or whatever treat you like (get the McDonalds app for your phone).
  
• If you have a chance to make coffee at home when no one is home, buy a hot plate and a moka pot. DO NOT BREW IT INDOORS. Use the garage or back patio instead.

Oh my god do not buy a Keurig. They're terrible for the environment and overpriced. Especially at the rate you're going to go through coffee in law school.

I would recommend either a french press or a small coffee pot and a travel mug.

I have this coffee pot and a reusable filter, which is one button and almost idiot proof unless you forget to turn it off. I would maybe get one with an auto shut off instead.

I also absolutely adore this travel mug. The 20oz one is roughly two cups of coffee and it will stay warm from about 8am until 3pm, if I don't drink it all before then.

I felt like both would be excellent on insulation, was more concerned about the mouth spout disassembly and cleaning when the Hydroflask is nice, simple flip top. I had a 'modern' Stanley coffee flask that had a complicated mouth spout that was a pure pain to clean.

But glad to hear the Zoji isn't so bad.

Not glass, but I use a Stanley vacuum mug and highly reccommend it. Spill-proof, break-proof, and keeps my coffee warm for hours. I haven't noticed it altering the taste of my coffee.

Have you looked at Stanley yet? I have this one but, it appears to have been replaced by a newer version

I don't have any experience with the newer version (which also comes as a 20 ounce), but I'd assume it's pretty good. I have quite a few different Stanley thermoses, as well as the mug. All of them hold temp well, whether it be cold or hot. The only time one leaked was when I didn't fully tighten the lid, otherwise no issues. They are also pretty tough....I've dropped them a few times while hiking, and they've been fine. I'm not sure why Stanley gets so much hate online, I've always had great luck with their products.

I have this one, and it works great, as long as you don't overfill it. Very sturdy. Stainless interior. Stays hot a looong time.
