Since you didn't say, I'm going to assume you're a palm gripper...and just in case (since some people get it mixed up), low sens = using a lot of mouse movement to turn around, whereas high sens = just needs a few inches to do a 360.

Mice:

  • Razer Deathadder 2013 ($57): I haven't seen anything negative about this mouse's sensor, only praise...I'm assuming it's another Deathadder with a flawless sensor. You can't beat the Deathadder in design/ergonomics if you're a palm gripper - it has . Downside is having to use Synapse 2.0 drivers which I have heard are a pain in the ass...haven't used them myself though. Also, I feel that the braided cable is a downside too since it is much heavier and rigid than non-braided.

  • Zowie EC1 eVo ($62): (Just got mine yesterday, I've used the Mamba (wireless Deathadder) for quite a while before this) Huge mouse feet for dat glide, non-braided cable, mouse is so freaking light that it feels wireless (especially with a cable bungee), absolutely no drivers - you just hold down certain buttons while plugging in the USB if you want to change settings. Flawless sensor and great for low sens gaming due to its lightness and optical sensor. Oh yeah, and it comes with a spare pair of mice feet, how can ya not love that?

A wireless Mamba is gunna set you back $105 for the mouse alone, so I don't suggest that, even though this mouse has served me well.

    Keyboards:

At that price ($110) for that Cooler Master board, it's just not worth it. Leopold is a better choice at that price range. Don't get me wrong, CM makes good stuff, but their niche is in the sub $70 range...that's when they are really good buys, but you'd have to wait for a sale, and who knows when the next one would be.

  • Leopold: Mechanical keyboards are absolutely worth it and these guys make some of the best keyboards on the market (in our price range). You're going to have to decide what switches you want though. I went with red, they are incredibly light, but if I got to choose again I'd probably go with blacks (they are a little heavier to press). It all depends on what you mostly do...gaming or typing? If you type more than game then you'd probably be better off with browns or blues. These things are built like tanks though, really sturdy and heavy, also it's nice that there is a groove to route the cable to the left or right on the back, if you need that. This keyboard will literally last you forever.

    Mousepad:

  • SteelSeries Qck Heavy ($21) or Qck+ ($17): The most popular low-sens mousepads around. The Heavy has a 6mm thickness and is good if your desk has an uneven surface. The Qck+ is just a skinny version of the same thing at 2mm thickness. I have a Qck+ but looking to buy a Heavy just because I want something thicker; the Qck+ does its job very well though. Btw, the Zowie glides amazingly on this pad.

  • Xtrac Ripper XXL ($30): If you want something ungodly in size so that you can put your keyboard and mouse on it, then look no further than this desk pad.

I don't know how you feel about cable drag, but it makes me want to do terrible things to innocent creatures. I mentioned earlier that I am using a mouse bungee ($17) from Razer and it works well enough. The Zowie's cable is a bit too thick to fit in the last clip closest to the base, but it fits in the other two just fine and does its job of no-drag. But, if you've got enough space for the cable to stretch out...Zowie's cable is so light that you might not feel it anyway.

I went as close to the budget as I could/went over it a bit (depending on what you choose). If you're going to be dropping this much money on peripherals then you might as well get the best that will last you for years to come.

Let me know if there is anything else...

I always like mouse pads with maps on them. Maybe a big fabric one like steel series make with the world map dyed into it.

u/Jynx3 · 4 pointsr/MashE

It depends on your mouse and its native dpi.

I use a logitech gx9 and set it too between 400 and 900 for fps. Also invest in a quality mouse pad, biggest your desk can handle.

I use a steel series http://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-Heavy-Gaming-Mouse-Black/dp/B000V7ARAU/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1394731611&sr=8-5&keywords=steel+series+mouse+pad

>Widowmaker is actually a viable option

She is still not great on PC.

>Besides seat time is there any useful tips you guys can give a recently converted?

Unlike a controller, where you were require to turn your sensitivity way up in order to turn around in a reasonable amount of time, you want to turn your mouse sensitivity way down for precise aiming. If you need to spin around quickly at lower sensitivity, you have the ability to swing your arm across your desk to do so.

Also, buy a good mousepad which is large enough for you to do that. I use a Razer Goliathus Speed Edition. It is pretty inexpensive and works great.

Other options:

[Zowie] (https://www.amazon.com/Zowie-Large-Gaming-Mouse-G-SR/dp/B00T56XWZU)

Steel Series

All three of those mousepads get used by professional Overwatch players.

I personally use an older design of the Goliathus with the same tracking surface but a different cosmetic pattern. Some of the new Razer graphics look like the Hulk jizzed on a roofing shingle and they may clash with your gear or sense of taste. They also make a "Control" edition with more texture, but I find it rough and distracting if my wrist touches it and it slows down my mouse slightly without really increasing my accuracy.

I have never used a SteelSeries mousepad, but they are known for good products. I own a keyboard made by them and it is great.

I have never heard of Zowie before checking what gear Overwatch Pros use, but I am interested in how basic it is while presumably having good enough quality for professional gaming. I really enjoy the understated look.

You can start with a SteelSeries QcK+, or QcK Heavy, depending on if you want the pad to be thicker. Personally I don't like these because they're pretty rough and give me friction burns on my wrist, so if you're worried about that happening to you there's other options like Glorious XL, Razer Gigantus, Zowie G-SR, HyperX Fury S (this one is also rough for me but not as bad as QcK), and there's many more but that's a few off the top of my head. Some are a bit pricey though. If you really want some good info and help from more people, make a post on /r/mousereview saying what games you play and what kind of features, if any, you're looking for. They help me out with mouse related stuff all the time, and I'm also pretty active there too haha.

More than likely the QcK+ will be plenty for you as long as it isn't too rough for you. Seems to be an uncommon problem, but I have talked to other people with the issue. Just try to find a pad that's at least 40cm (400mm) or 16in or so wide, that's the most important thing. Some people swear by the Allsop Raindrop XL even though it's a bit on the small side for me. If you're around 900-1000 eDPI you should be fine with this one, I like it a lot, just wish it had a couple more inches in each dimension.

I have this mousepad (the CompLexity team version) coming in tomorrow if you want to wait and see if I recommend it.

Apologies for the wall of text, I'm kind of into this stuff, probably too much haha.

u/krupty · 3 pointsr/GlobalOffensive

I use 2.8 ingame and 400 dpi. I feel it's easier to hit shots with a lower sensitivity. If I were you I would lower it a bit.

Try buy a bigger mousepad aswell. Personal favorite.

u/clupean · 2 pointsr/buildapc

You could buy the Steelseries QcK Heavy used from Amazon Warehouse for $18.56

u/nessonic · 2 pointsr/AskGames

How's their desk setup? I grabbed a large mousepad (link) and it helped my gameplay significantly. No more cramped space. I also bought a Zowie FK1 mouse, though a mouse is something the player would be inclined to research into before purchase- they might not like that particular mouse for instance.

Otherwise, Valve has a store for physical items. You can net a Steam gift card as well, there are thousands of in-game items for purchase- but be careful, some players don't even bother with them (they're all cosmetic anyways) so maybe try checking into that option before purchase.

u/LOKTAROGAAAAH · 2 pointsr/buildapc

Get this and never look back. Had mine for 5 years now and still perfect. Can be washed with soap so no worries about stains and dust.

u/JovialFeline · 2 pointsr/GlobalOffensive

QCK Heavy has been good to me. Same area as the QCK+ but with some added thickness on the bottom.

u/mONEyCruickshank · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

I have been using the Steelseries QCK Heavy for about 3-4 years. Its really nice size. I play CS:GO at 1.5 sensitivity at 800DPI and I have never run out of space. If you are a fan of soft pads, this one is nutty.

https://www.amazon.ca/SteelSeries-Heavy-Gaming-Mouse-Black/dp/B000V7ARAU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1498165892&sr=8-1&keywords=QCK+Heavy

u/tremu · 2 pointsr/GlobalOffensive

there are a few ways to do this, usually a combination of the following:

  • proper size mouse pad like this

  • "priming" a flick. what I mean by this is, say you're this guy in the clip, and you have info that the last T is probably jungle but could come from ct. so you hold jungle, but you do it with your mouse on the right side of your pad instead of in the center like you typically would - this way you have a nice roomy flick.

  • a swift, violent arm swipe. this is extremely helpful, borderline necessary for people with "low" sens like 2@400dpi to turn >90 degrees. you typically do fine aiming/spray control with your wrist, but when you need to change angles, you lock your wrist, pick your mouse up, and swipe the fuck out that bitch with your elbow/shoulder.

    hope this helped
u/Bennettisme · 2 pointsr/battlestations

It looks like the Steelseries QCK+, I have a QCK Heavy which is the same size but thicker and I love it! It's great if you play at a low sensitivity in games like CS:GO.

I've been using the SteelSeries 63008 QcK Heavy Gaming Mouse Pad. For reference, I play CS:GO at 400 dpi & 1.6 in game sensitivity.

u/Shriekin-Wanderer · 1 pointr/CruciblePlaybook

16 inches is not small at all. I use the QCK Heavy + (Large), which is 16 by 15 inches. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000V7ARAU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

My in game is currently at 400 dpi 10 sens.

u/InCraZPen · 1 pointr/Overwatch

I don't know what my sens in overwatch not is but it is probably the same as this guy's. You don't want a sens as low as CSGO but in general the lower the better. Logic is that the lower the sens the more accurate you can be.

In overwatch people are flying everywhere and the chance of someone randomly showing up behind you is higher so you want to be able to turn around a bit faster.

People can play with such low sens in CS because everyone knows... generally, where people are going to be coming from. Doing a 180 isn't something that needs to be done all the time.

Having different sens for different hero's sounds nice but I think practice would be bad. Consistency NB is what you should be aiming for and I think that would throw it off

This is the pad I use...takes a lot of it to do a 180

Get a LARGE mouse pad! I've been using this SteelSeries QcK+ ($14.99) and it's been very reliable for me, even that I play with slower sensitivity than your setting (800dpi with 1 sensitvity & "0.818933" zoom sensitivity

Use alllll of that surface area (15.7in x 17.72in x 0.08 in or 39.88cm x 45cm x 0.2cm) for about a week and you should be adjusted!

There's a thicker QcK too with the same surface are if you're interested.

Make sure to buy the correct size if you are!

u/MareDoVVell · 1 pointr/battlestations

Haha it actually makes a big difference if you play with low dpi counts, I can do a 360 degree turn without lifting my mouse which is running at 500 dpi. Not to mention they're only $21

u/JamalJunior · 1 pointr/buildapc

https://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-QcK-Heavy-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B000V7ARAU?th=1 This is a very compact standard mousepad.

https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Gaming-MM300-Anti-Fray-Extended/dp/B01798VS4C As far as "protecting" the desk, this pad is perfect. It's an amazing size and has no real downsides I don't think. Just the design may not go with your other things.

Also I think generally cloth pads are more popular and better.

u/eldudo420 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

If by gamepad you mean mouse pad and If you dont want it to be long enough to lay your keyboard on the steelseries heavy is a good choice and it used by some pro gamers too. Not too expensive either. https://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-Heavy-Gaming-Mouse-Black/dp/B000V7ARAU

Most people have used this one for years. Steelseries QcK Heavy with the Zowie G-SR in close second. Otherwise, a lot of them use whatever their team's sponsors provide.

From the roughest to the speediest on my list of my most recommended mousepads:

u/kiwiandapple · 1 pointr/buildapcforme

Won't be a jet engine. But if you want it to be more silent, you could buy 2 more aftermarket coolers. And replace the 2 stock fans.
I am a big fan (pun intended) of Noctua, Be Quiet, Gentle, Bitfenix and some CoolerMaster fans for when on a budget.

As for the peripherals.

  • Keyboard: MX browns, macro keys, white backlight, nice wristrest, not that expensive. Very suttle look on it as well. I couldn't find to many reviews, but here is an unboxing and overview.
  • Headphones: Review! Very solid review. It as well matches our build and it's freaking "cheap" for a gaming headset. i wish I had enough money to give this one to my friend where I game with a lot, his headset is terrible and his microphone is a lot worse.
  • Mouse: Review! Again I don't really need to say more then this. If they still sell this mouse at the time that my own dies, I will get this one. I personally use the G400s wich got a "weaker' sensor and fewer buttons. But is still an amazing mouse.
  • Mousepad: This is pretty personal, but most people do like a cloth surface. Including myself. A tip when you get it: put it in the dryer for a few minutes. This will remove the wraps that it got after you unpack it. If you don't like the design and want a clean look instead. The SteelSeries heavy is a great alternative, with basicly the same dimensions as the Qpad.

i prefer the larger surface and thicker material. but the qck and qck+ are both good as well

u/thombleton · 1 pointr/MousepadReview

I used the qck + heavy for a couple of years, it is 6mm thick. However it isn't stitched on the edges so it rubbed my wrist a lot which I found annoying, but I would suggest trying it from amazon and return if it is too much

Mine is a topper for my desk, bought from Clutch.

I was using this one before, and it was large enough for me: https://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-QcK-Cloth-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B000V7ARAU/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=steelseries%2Bmouse%2Bpad&qid=1558550213&s=gateway&sr=8-3&th=1

It's the large size, thick edge.

u/Vanarp_Letap · 1 pointr/CruciblePlaybook

G305 wireless mouse (it uses Logitech’s light speed tech so it’s as responsive as a wired mouse) using a single AAA lithium battery in a AAA to AA converter to make it as light as possible (it’s about 74 grams). I have average sized hands and use a fingertip grip. I use this mousepad https://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-Heavy-Cloth-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B000V7ARAU

u/cocquyt · 1 pointr/gamingpc

I use a SteelSeries QcK Heavy and it's relatively huge. 40x45cm

http://www.amazon.co.uk/SteelSeries-Surface-QcK-Heavy-PC/dp/B000V7ARAU/

And a pic for comparison with my Steelseries 6Gv2 and Logitech G400. It's as big as a full size keyboard.

http://imgur.com/gSgpJ

It's a cloth top and quite comfortable to use and the adjustable DPI on the mouse makes it easy to take advantage of the size when needed. The G400 is a lighter mouse without the addable weights of the G500.

Do not get the Firefly mousepad, yes it has RGB but the quality of it sucks really bad. Stay away from Razer if you can, most people have bad experiences with them. Stick with Logitech / Corsair. Also this Mouse has the best sensor on the market right now, any CSGO player who has used it will recommend it 100 times over, including myself.

http://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-Heavy-Gaming-Mouse-Black/dp/B000V7ARAU <-- I like this mousepad however I got it when it was $15 and they seemed to have raised the price. I like the amount of friction it provides against the mouse feet and it's huge.

u/HandsomeHodge · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Link for the Havit. I gave it away because I replaced it with a Steelseries QCK Heavy. Which had more vertical space for me, they're both good.

u/FullDerpHD · 1 pointr/GlobalOffensive

1000x1.5 is actually fine. If you are comfortable with that just use it at GN4 you have a lot of significantly more important things to worry about.

If you need proof it's fine players like elige, One of the best NA riflers is on 400x3.6 which is in effect about the same. about 60~ dpi lower.

But yeah you should get a large mousepad for even your original sens. This is what I use.
