Comes with a giant mouse pad though! Lmao.

I'm trying to remember what other mice I looked into before buying this one.

Edit: How about this one? This was my other choice before the Ducky. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0160USMW6/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1502037581&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=rival+steelseries&dpPl=1&dpID=31F14-JSkLL&ref=plSrch

I really don't know why you'd be getting pains so I can't help you there.

But I do want to point out that there are Deathadders without the rubber grip if you want to try those out.

Personally, I use the Steelseries Rival 300 and it's the most comfortable mouse I've owned. It's the same basic layout of the Deathadder, just a bit larger. It does have the rubber grips, I'm not sure if they feel the same as the Deathadder grips though.

fair enough, but at 25 you're overcharging especially considering you don't specifically know the model it is.

The Rival 300 is such a good, comfortable, no-BS mouse that I have an extra one in box should my current one fail. (It hasn't, in over three years. I haven't been as lucky with Razer and Logitech.) You can adjust DPI and color on it if you want, but I keep the color off, found one DPI and stuck with it.

With keyboards, mechanicals are the best on the market. They really do feel a lot better to press. They're also usually easy to pop the keys on and off, and usually are easy to clean. You also don't need a $179 keyboard, unless you like LEDs a lot. https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-STRAFE-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboard/dp/B00ZUPOMDQ/ I like Corsair keyboards and the Cherry Red switch. Not too loud, good feel to them.

Layouts, if you feel up to starting from scratch, you might take the time to jump into TheCore: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/sc2-strategy/341878-thecore-advanced-keyboard-layout or, alternatively, TheCore Lite: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/sc2-strategy/333891-thecore-lite-advanced-keyboard-layout These provide options for all 10 control groups to be accessible.

What grip do you mainly use? I recommend the Steelseries Rival 300 for palm grip. Also the Razer Death Adder Chroma seems to be at $50 on amazon

Steelseries Rival is under 100 bucks, and sometimes goes on sale for much less. Rival 300

u/ValorousVagabond · 2 pointsr/buildapc

Just to double check, do you mean this one?

https://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-Rival-Optical-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B0160USMW6?ie=UTF8&*Version*=1&*entries*=0

I only ask because I bought a Deathadder from Amazon and it turned out to be a newer model that's apparently smaller than the one I owned before.

u/Richard_MF_Nixon · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

I love my Razor Deathadder, but Razer quality control has a lot of issues, now more than ever. Any of their newer products, typically branded as "Chroma" are horrendous. They're cheaply built and seriously prone to failure. Get the DeathAdder Black or DeathAdder 2013. Those are much higher quality kit, though harder to find and as such, pricier.

As for Non-Razer kit, Logitech, Steelseries, and Zowie have the best rep for mice. Here's a few recommendations based on what I've heard here and read from reviews from Tom's Hardware, PCGamer, and Amazon. If you can, go up to Best Buy and or Fry's and get your hands on the mouse you're looking at. Everyone has a different preferance in Ergonomics. I cannot stand Logitech mice for their feel, but many love them and they're quality kit, as an example.

  • Logitech G502

^("Logitech took the already-excellent G500s and remedied its few flaws, leaving a product that's both more streamlined and more robust. If you have very specific needs — such as tournament-level FPS play or endgame MMO content — the Proteus Core may prove passable. For anyone else, it's hard to imagine a better generalist gaming mouse. Mouse manufacturers, take note: The Proteus Core is the standard to beat.") -Tom's Guide

  • Steelseries Rival

^("Overall, there's very little objectively wrong with the Rival, but there's not much to set it apart from the pack, either. The Logitech Proteus Core has a better design; the Razer DeathAdder has better software; the Corsair Vengeance M65 has more genre-specific features. Still, if you've got big hands and want something comfortable, the Rival is a solid choice.") -Tom's Guide

  • Zowie FK2

^(" In many cases, the mice above are cheaper despite having more buttons, higher sensitivity or better customisation options. Of course, not everybody needs such features, and there is certainly beauty in the FK2's ambidextrous design and simplicity. Nevertheless, it's hard to see where the price justification comes from in the context of the rest of the market, so for this reason it just misses out on an award. That also being said, the overall quality is high, so if it meets your needs and size requirements, you'll be rewarded with a great little mouse provided the cost is not an issue.") - Bit-Tech.net

  • Razer Deathadder 2013

^("Sometimes a product is popular because it feeds on its own momentum, and sometimes a product is popular because it's legitimately excellent. The Razer DeathAdder is definitely in the second category. Despite a few design quibbles and game-linking oddities, the mouse is an easy recommendation for PC gamers of every stripe.")- Tom's Guide

Eyo,
honestly, as someone who played lots of dota, I'm gonna say that all the buttons are not necessary, and from my experience are rather uncomfortable to press.

So I'm just gonna recommend what I always recommend (and use).

And that is the Steelseries rival 300 mouse, super comfortable if you have big hands and palm grip, flawless tracking, 3 additional buttons, love it to death.

And the Kingston Hyperx Mousepad, much thicker then the qck and very smooth, and rather big for the price.

u/2b2gbi · 2 pointsr/buildapcsales

Just a heads up, Amazon has it for this price as well if that's a better option for you.

Steelseries Rival 300! I havr 2 of them and they're great. apparently they really dropped in price They used to be 60 or 70 when I got mine. You use their software to set your dpi sens and set the scroll wheel and logo colors. then it saves to the mouse and you can delete the software if you're not going to change the settings again in the future. I switched to these mice after having a deathadder start double clicking after about 6 months.

u/Ezthran · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Hey guys so I'm building up and old laptop and am in need of a mouse. On my desktop, I use a Rival 300 . The issue is the cord is really long and the size isn't so suitable for my laptop's portability. Are there similar portable mice out there (planning on playing a lot of csgo lul)? Thanks!

Budget: 50 USD

u/TheNerdFactor · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

You are better off getting an extremely cheap mech and using a generic mouse for now. The mouse in the combo offers no customizability or software and you will eventually want to upgrade the keyboard to mechanical anyways. Might as well go endgame in one department than going subpar in both. When you do decide to upgrade your mouse in the future, I suggest the Steelseries Rival 300. It is an extremely high quality mouse that is totally endgame, for a very low price.

I will let one of the other nice folks of Reddit answer your monitor question. I'm a noob in that regard. My personal setup is a 144hz monitor but looks like you need a 60hz. I'm not sure what the best 60hz monitors are.

I will give you a few extra pointers and suggestions from my latest build a few months ago.

Mice are generally purely preference. I've never heard of the brand in your build so I'm a bit concerned of the quality. I personally enjoy the Steelseries Rival.

That ram you have in your build seems expensive. I was able to get a set of trident RGB ram for $111 on a Newegg sale. Keep an eye on r/buildapcsales and sign up for Newegg sale emails. Depending on when you buy, you should be able to find a better price than $120 for 16gb.

I'm not sure if Jet is still offering the Triple15 deal or something similar for new customers. But basically the first 3 purchases I made were 15% off capping at $30 max. So I got my 3 most expensive items from them and it was cheaper than anywhere else. Look into that and keep it in mind if you weren't aware of it already.

I'm not sure if your MoBo will support it, but I spent $23 on a cablemod RGB light strip that makes the S340 Elite look awesome. Totally doing nothing for your performance, just added aesthetics.

One thing to keep in mind for the S340 Elite. Mine only came with two exhaust fans (rear back exhaust and top rear exhaust). I bought two additional fans for front intake to improve the airflow in my case. I bought a pair of fan splitters to connect both sets of two fans to one fan connection on the MoBo each because I only had two fan connectors on the MoBo.

Edit:
I checked your MoBo specs:
"4 x 4-pin system fan connectors 1 x 4-pin RGB LED strip connector"

You won't need fan splitters if you want to hookup 4 case fans. You can also add an RGB light strip
CableMod WideBeam Magnetic LED Strip RGB - 60cm / 30 LEDs

Again, light strip totally unnecessary. Just looks awesome. You could always add it in down the road.

If you want a larger mouse, it's kind hard to find cheap, large mice that aren't crap. You could get the 2013 DeathAdder or the Rival 300. Neither are exactly cheap, but they're not as expensive as many other high-performing mice.

SteelSeries Rival ($40) and Razer Deathadder ($60) are the mice I like for gaming.

Something like this for the keyboard: CM Storm QuickFire Rapid ($82)

I feel like the Rival and QuickFire Rapid together at $122 is a great deal.

u/drfoqui · 1 pointr/buildapc

I'm looking for a mouse recommendation under the following parameters:

Price: absolute max of $55 but ideally more like $40.

I have more of a palm grip. I play mostly FPS and I also use it to work.

I have average size hands but tend to not like small mice very much.

I don't particularly care about having a lot of programmable buttons. Wireless is cool but I don't need it. I'd rather have a better sensor.

I'd like a mouse that doesn't look like it was designed by a 9 year-old who likes spaceships (nothing against those who do).

My options right now are Mionix Naos 3200, Steelseries Rival 300 or Logitech G402, which are about the same price right now. I also saw the G303 on sale at Best Buy but I'm worried that it is a bit small for my taste. I'm open to other suggestions as well.

Any recommendations?

>OR WHAT OTHER ONE WOULD YOU recommend under $50

How about https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0160USMW6 ?

u/RedMage928 · 1 pointr/buildapc

My brother lent me a spare Logitech G600. It's definitely a mouse issue and not the pad.

I'm similar to you. I have big hands so my two rightmost fingers drag if I don't grip the mouse with them and I tend to pick up lighter mice. Loving the G600 except for the 12 side buttons

How come the steelseries rival 300 is $50 and higher than a corsair saber at $68? The final mouse is also only $67

The HAVIT HV-MS976GT is the #1 best seller on Amazon for $10 and the Redragon M601 is 56% off, but I'm guessing they're lacking?

What's the best big/heavy gaming mouse similar to the G600 without buttons for my buck?

u/Birrrd_ · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Its $45 but i would highly suggest you pay the premium. So good.

Edit: fixed the link

I'm looking for a new mouse to replace my cheap E-3lue Cobra because the scroll wheel isn't super responsive anymore. I've loved this mouse mostly because of how light it is and the two side buttons. Also, the adjustable DPI is pretty handy for games that handle sensitivity differently. Anyways, here's my answers to the list.

  • Games I'll be playing: Overwatch and Witcher 3 mostly for now, but I play just about anything from FPS to RPGs.
  • I'm right handed
  • Not looking to spend more than $50
  • Hand size: probably about 20 cm
  • Preferred grip type: Fingertip grip
  • Weight preference: Lighter is better, imo. My current mouse is 4 ounces and it feels about perfect
  • One mouse I'm looking at is the Steel Series Rival 300. Would this fit the bill for me?
  • Also, I don't need more than 6 buttons (LMB, RMB, DPI, and two side buttons). Anything more than that is excessive for me.

    Thanks!
