Steelseries are awesome for this. The top cushion rests on your head, it doesn't sit there. Super comfy. https://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-Siberia-Full-Size-Gaming-Headset/dp/B002Q8IHDQ

This headset is seen all over in the CS:GO pro community, as well as LoL. I will be getting a set myself very soon.

I have Siberia v2s http://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-Siberia-Full-Size-Gaming-Headset/dp/B002Q8IHDQ

I find them very comfortable (something I struggle with a lot of headsets/headphones) and like them quite a bit, but am not a serious audiophile or anything like that so I probably wouldn't be too helpful in that regard. That being said, if you're willing to wait a little, they do occasionally go on sale at the various deals/1saleaday sort of places--I got mine for $45 and find them to be more than worth that price.

I use this memory foam blindfold with headphones built in.

IT IS AMAZING!

If I can't(edit: meaning I'm in a public setting or something) put on a blindfold, I generally use my old headset since it's comfy and I upgraded to a Turtle Beach headset for gaming.

I've heard some pretty good things about the Steel Series Siberia V2s. They can also double as regular wear headphones for your iPod. Normally I wouldn't wear something as big as them in public, but if you've got a long ass flight or something they'd be perfect. Supposedly the best in long term comfort, very durable, solid sound quality, well made, they'll last for ages and cost under $100. The amazon listed price is $98, but here you can get them directly from Amazon for 77 bucks. You also have your choice of a wide variety of colors if that's what floats your boat.

If you want a nice USB surround sound one, get this one Logitech G35. I personally vouch for it, others do as well.

If you want one with a 3.5 mm headphone jack, these are nice Steel Series Siberia.

A lot of people will tell you to go with a non-gamer headphone and a clip mic. As you get a bit more bang for your buck.

This is all according to preference though. My preference is in the order I listed, the surround sound is quite impressive. Hope this helps.

How did you get that? It's 38.48 and the black one is cheaper.

I recommend you to get some headphones and microphone. Since i use my AKG K701 with windows virtual sound I never will buy a dedicated gaming headset.
If you really want a gaming headset look for the Creative Fatal1ty or the Steelseries Siberia V2

I'm re-replying this from another thread I saw.

I use my SteelSeries Siberia V2s, record in audacity, and then use the filters explained in this video. Check out the latest few videos on my channel for an example of how it sounds.

u/respekyoeldas · 2 pointsr/gaming

I use the SteelSeries Siberia v2 headset for my PC and Xbox One. You'll need these two items for it to work with your Xbox (not sure about PS4 but I'm sure there's a similar adapter):

Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter

Headset Buddy mic/audio adapter

The headset is great for PC gaming and I've no complaints using it on XBONE.

u/Craios125 · 2 pointsr/gamingsuggestions

There will probably be a lot of different answers, but I just can't recommend Steelseries Syberia V2 enough.

There are several reason why I love them - they have great surround sonud, fantastic sound quality for music, a good microphone...

But most importantly - they feel like heaven on your head. I have never in my life found a more comfortable headset than Syberia V2.

That band on the top... Dude, I have no fucking clue why more companies don't use them. I kid you not - go to a store that has them, and as to try them on. They feel soooo comfortable. They sit perfectly on your head. It doesn't press too hard anywhere. You don't get tired of wearing them. They stay comfortable for years. They look fantastic, if I may say so myself.

I just can't sing enough praises. A fantastic headset. And better than any other headset with just a plain softened plastic band, like the Razer and Logitech stuff.

Seriously, just try them on. You'll instantly understand what I'm talking about.

Razer also make good headsets. In fact, they also make great computers, laptops and other peripherals. But they are overpriced. Razer is the Apple of the gaming scene - no doubt about it. You'll be getting a good product, but you'll pay 30% of the price for the little logo on the side.

Logitech bring good stuff, but they aren't exactly long lasting and they aren't very comfortable all the time.

I suggest staying away from Roccat stuff. It looks really pretty, but the ergonomics and especially the durability sucks shit. I once bought a mouse from them (Roccat Kova) - broke down a month later. Not a good experience at all.

Finally... As a complete sidenote, and not exactly fits your requirement, but if you care for great, clear sound, good quality and a fantastic company (which includes a lifetime guarantee) - I just can't stop talking abotu Koss PortaPro. They are in the cheap category of headphones, but the sound quality is just unparalleled. They are comfortable. They have great sound. Great and crystal clear highs, nice and rumbly lows (VERY surprising for an open-ear headphone). And I tried gaming with them. I switched to them as my main driver. I kid you not. The games just sound so crystal when in them, because they are actually open-ear. This really lets the sounds of some louder games get on another level.

Might not be the best choice if you're playing competitive CSGO, though.

u/JustYourLuck · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

If you have a bit more, spend $35 to get new Steelseries Siberia v2s from China on eBay (or $45 to get them used from Amazon). Great headset, I highly recommend it.

u/Silversoul2869 · 1 pointr/buildapc

I can vouch for steel series. Their headsets are pretty good. I have two of the the Siberia v2 and the 4xb? I forgot its the one for Xbox. I recommend the Siberia v2 even though the v3's are coming out or already out. The earpads are really soft and cushioned, only downside is that your ears get sweaty and hot when you wear it for too long.

They have a really nice looking frost blue edition.

Thanks for posting. This looks like a great deal. Does anyone know what the difference is between these and the V2 Full Size model?

Amazon Link

Are they a newer model or something? Will the sound quality be the same?

u/Moikee · 1 pointr/GlobalOffensive

I'm already pretty sold on the Deathadder 2013 and qck mousepad.

The Superlux headset is well within budget so I'll certainly consider that or the SteelSeries Siberia V2 which is twice the price.

Keyboard is what I'm still really unsure on. Probably the least important of the 4 items so I'll mull over that for a little longer.

u/TheSneakyRussain · 1 pointr/headphones

Budget around £90

I've been looking into getting a headset and I was either going to get the SteelSeries Serbia V2 or the Hyperx Cloud but i got recommended [this] (http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00029MTMQ/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=26U53TNS2CUQM&coliid=I1RJ68F25WDC11 ) and this but are these truly going to be better than just getting a headset?

u/CGC002 · 1 pointr/reddittf2league

>I am investing in a pair of those really nice headphones with the mic though (any recommendations?)

It's generally recommended to purchase a decent set of headphones such as the Sennheiser HD555s paired with a clip-on mic. Although, if you insist on going the headset route, the Logitech G35 is what I use, and it's pretty great, albeit a bit heavyset. Another oft-recommended headset is the Steelseries Sibera.

u/Stanovich · 1 pointr/ASKGAMING

I read a lot of reviews before settling on Steelseries Siberia V2 (green!). The common thread in Turtle Beach reviews was that they were poorly built. I can't really speak for them or Razer (I like Razer's gaming keyboards), but I know that I am very happy with Steelseries. They block out sound very well, they fit comfortably over my ears rather than on or in (this could be a problem if you wear glasses), the mic is retractable, the cable to the PC has a connector in the middle so you can lengthen/shorten it, and the top part that sits on top of your head is so comfortable it is barely perceptible even during long sessions. Most importantly, the sound quality is very clear both in your ears and when you transmit through the mic. Good headphones make a big difference, and it's hard to believe it until you try it.

u/JackOuttaBox · 1 pointr/GlobalOffensive

Do you mean this one?

u/Samjogo · 1 pointr/AdviceAnimals

I bought these. They're much better headphones than I previously had so I don't feel too bad about getting them but I still feel kinda stupid.

u/FyreMermaid · 1 pointr/ffxiv

I've been using a SteelSeries Siberia (there's a newer version than this one but this is what I use) for a couple years now. Never had any of my friends complain about the sound quality. It took a bit of breaking in but was never painful and is very comfortable now. I also personally need the ear parts to completely cover my ears or they'll push my earrings into the side of my head and these filled that requirement. After a couple years of owning them and using them constantly the only wear and tear I see on them is some small bits of the leather ear parts coming off.

Based on the first twenty seconds of that vid, I don't think you'll have a hard time getting what you want - it's really pretty average. You can hear a fair bit of background noise (although it may be intended for atmosphere) and their voices are a bit overblown.
I've heard decent things about the SteelSeries Siberia, and I believe the company is pretty standard among pro gaming.
I don't know if you'll be able to avoid picking up a barking dog or not, but you could give it a shot. This may be one of those things where you have to try a few to find what you need.

I would suggest the Icemat Siberia v2

Hello, I'm looking for a gaming headset with a microphone. I have a combined microphone/audio 3.5mm port, so I can't do dual jacks. I have been looking at these: Steelseries Siberia v2 Full-Size Gaming Headset and the SteelSeries Siberia RAW Prism Gaming Headset.

I'm leaning towards the Siberia v2 but I can't find if it has a combined 3.5mm cable or not. The Frostblue USB one is over my budget. I heard the RAW version has a bad microphone.

  • Budget: Up to $70
  • Source: Laptop
  • Requirements for Isolation: I'm using these in my room where it is pretty quiet most of the time. A little bit of isolation is okay, but not a big deal.
  • Preferred Type of Headphone: Full-Size, over the ear.
  • Preferred tonal balance: I like bass but not too much of it. Balanced is good.
  • Past headphones: Steelseries Siberia v1 and Sony MDR-ZX100
  • Preferred Music: I mostly listen to EDM/ECM, Hip-hop, rock, and classical music.

    Thank you for your time!

Case: Chaser a31 snow edition? Idk it's white with a window in your price range with optical drive areas. It's a bit of a unique look though.

Mouse: Logitech mmo mouse

As for keyboard you can't get too picky honestly. Logitech, white? Mechanical, white? good luck finding a decent one. Non, mechanical white? Like the look of mac keyboards? the gunmetal corsair keyboard looks nice with a lot of white peripherals. If you really want white and it still too look gaming with a low budget go with something made in china. If you have patience grab decent keyboard and a can of spraypaint and stard moding like this razer blackwidow

I know you didn't ask but steelseries makes some slick white peripherals like this headset

I got the STeel Series Siberia V@'s. I am extremely impressed with them and they work great as long as you have the adapter. I got mine refurbished on amazon for way cheap. http://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-Siberia-Full-Size-Gaming-Headset/dp/B002Q8IHDQ

u/Valhalla1759 · 1 pointr/gaming

http://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-Siberia-Full-Size-Gaming-Headset/dp/B002Q8IHDQ

These are my recommendation. Mic quality is fantastic and the mic itself is well made and it can recess back into the headset when not in use. I tried a few Razer headsets and always experienced poor mic quality so I turned to Steel Series and haven't looked back.

Audio quality is decent as well for general gaming and not too bad for music either.

Build quality is excellent, I've had the black/gold ones for 2 years now and have had no issues at all. I also find them to be extremely comfortable as they're lightweight, don't squeeze your head to hard, and the (p)leather ear pads are very soft and comfortable. Also cord length is excellent, has a short standard length but comes with a nice extension if needed.

For a general PC gaming headset I think they do a pretty good job. Sort of "Jack of all trades, master of none" type of headset.

u/kenna3eb · 1 pointr/headphones

Sorry for the slow response... I lurk a lot but very rarely log in.

As it turns out, I grabbed this pair: http://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-Siberia-Full-Size-Gaming-Headset/dp/B002Q8IHDQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1331358806&sr=8-1 when it was on sale for about 30 bucks from 1saleaday. I got them a few days ago and I think they're decent. Good for regular TF2-ing and they are not uncomfortable. I have worn them for 2-hour TF2 sessions and, while they are not heavenly, they get the job done and I don't feel like I have to take 'em off and rest my ears every half hour.

Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions about 'em.

u/mosbro · 1 pointr/headphones

Hello, currently looking for headphones that come with a microphone attached to it and have a split 3.5mm audio and microphone cable like these have: SteelSeries Siberia v2. Of course, I want better quality and comfort than those.

Budget: $100

Source: Desktop

Isolation: Using at home. More isolation would be better.
Not using in public

Preferred type: Cover the ear

Tonal Balance: I like bass but not enough that it drowns out the music.

Past headphones: I am currently using SteelSeries Siberia v2. They are starting to hurt on my ear after wearing them for about 3 hours. The microphone quality has also dropped.

Improve: I still want a headset that comes with a microphone attached to it. Better sound quality than the my current headphones would be amazing. I bought those for $50 so I'm hoping spending $100 will give me better quality. I was looking at these to purchase: HyperX Cloud II but I'm not sure. They don't have to be gaming headphones.

Any help would be appreciated! Thank you.

u/tephulio · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

The store is showing a standard black pair of V2's at 67.99, which is still more expensive than Amazon.

u/JOKKAE · 1 pointr/GlobalOffensive

This. They can take a beating too.

Edit: Heres some for $60.

u/Aquix · 1 pointr/headphones

Budget: $40usd hard limit

Source: PC (board specs) and occasionally via my phone.

Requirements for Isolation: At home, don't wanna disturb parents sleeping upstairs though.

Will you be using these Headphones in Public?: Rarely, if ever.

Preferred Type of Headphone: Full-Sized, Circumaural, wired, active.

Past headphones: SteelSeries Siberia V2 - I don't game anymore however, and my interests have shifted more towards higher audio quality (without a need for a mic for example).

Preferred tonal balance: Not sure about this one..I'm guessing neutral/balanced?

Preferred Music: Vocal/progressive trance, alternative rock, hard rock, and occasionally classical.

What would you like to improve on from your set-up: I'd like a taste of the audiophile life, and if possible, detachable cables :)

I would do what /u/tehhpyfce said and get a microphone and headphones seperately, but if for some reason you still want a gaming headset I would suggest steelseries siberia v2.

I have them and they're pretty nice. http://www.amazon.co.uk/SteelSeries-Siberia-Full-Headset-Microphone-White/dp/B002Q8IHDQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1411410402&sr=8-1&keywords=siberia+v2

My Steelseries Siberia V2s are holding up quite nice, I like the way they feel and the sounds is good IMO. It also has a retractable mic, which is nice. Dunno if it's just me, but I would say it's a good choice. Cost about 80 quid normally, seems to be on sale atm.

u/mysticreddit · 1 pointr/Terraria

Thanks, but I have enough Steel Siberia v2 headsets for now -- I've given quite a few away to friends. :-)

u/DotBowder · 0 pointsr/pcgaming

I love my Siberia V2 headset of SteelSeries. They look nice, have a great mic, great speakers (in relation to other "Gaming" headsets out there), look nice, and are right in your price range.

I have the white ones which are a bit more expensive atm, but the Black ones are under $75.

http://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-Siberia-Full-Size-Gaming-Headset/dp/B002Q8IHDQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1374793810&sr=8-1&keywords=Siberia+V2

The best setup is awesome headphones (we're talking expensive though), and an attachable mic, but I think the Siberia v2s are good enough for anyone who isn't an audiophile.

u/WolfType · 0 pointsr/buildapc

I know that that the SteelSeries Siberia V2 is a quality headset. Apparently it's really comfortable and has good sound for footsteps etc whilst games. They can be found here. It comes in different colours too, and I especially like the frost blue set due to the light on each ear.

A mic test can be found here. All audio recorded on that video is using the headset's mic. It's pretty damn good.

Hi there,
I've recently just begun listening to a lot more music. I have this gaming headset, but when listening to music the sound falls a little flat. I know that gaming headsets are a lot less bang-for-your-buck in terms of sound quality, so I was wondering if someone could recommend a set of headphones in the ~$40 price range that have a richer sound than this headset. I would use them mostly on my desktop, and sometimes on my phone. The types of music I listen to include:

EDM/dubstep, reggae, punk rock, ska, and some acoustic coffee-house type stuff.

I'm just looking for any good, cheap pair of headphones that can provide a rich, deep music experience. Thanks!
