The first setup was just a piece of plywood. I drilled holes for Taco Bell cups to hold water, and screwed a ring and folding legs (using some cheap hinges) to the underside of it so I could set it up on an old metal easel.
The legs rested on the cross base of the easel, and the ring hooked into the top of it.
Later, I bought an art desk that I liked more (The Eclipse table by Studio Designs, on sale for $90 on Amazon right now), and finally upgraded to the wooden easel, but only because I got a really good deal on it.
Here’s an Amazon link to the Eclipse table by Studio Designs (I got the one with the storage drawer.) I liked it, but wanted the side that doesn’t tilt to be larger, and would have loved to be able to have that on the left, because I’m left handed.
