Driver for a company contracted by Amazon here.

Your best bet is to buy one of those outdoor storage boxes and a deliveries sign and leave that next to the gate, or just the box and change the instructions to place packages inside. Your packages will never get crushed and they will be safe from inclement weather!

My house does not have gutters. This means that when it rains (as it does often in FL) that my front porch gets soaked. It was so soaking wet, in fact, that the concrete stairs beneath the front door (that weren't sealed) were allowing water to get into the crawl space and causing mold to grow there. We had a contractor come in and seal the area. He also created a sort of concrete slide, so the water would funnel into the yard and stop that from happening again.

Unfortunately, it still gets really wet when the rain beats straight down on the porch. The USPS person who delivers my mail always puts my mail on the front porch when there are more than a few letters. She does not use a plastic bag. No talks with her or reports to the post office have been able to deal with this issue. :/

So when she leaves the mail on my front porch, everything is soaking wet. I've had to peel apart mail and hang it up on clothespins to dry. I have missed a lot of important documents this way, and annoyingly, coupons as well.

I think that perhaps if I had this waterproof box on my front porch, I could at least get the mail lady to put my mail in it. Then I won't have to deal with boxes that disintegrate when I touch them and illegible mail.

Thanks for the contest! :D

I got this bench to put on my porch for when I leave packages to be picked up. The package deliverers also know how to leave my packages in there as well. It doesn’t have a lock on it and someone could just put the whole thing in their car, but at least packages aren’t out in the open.
