I think your anxiety is very likely to be a psychological problem. You simply became very worried about taking "high dosage" of it, BUT I can put your mind to rest!

Last winter 2014/2015 I have been taking very high doses of Vitamin D3 for a little more than three months. I read some articles about possibility of healing some ailments in this way so I gave it a shot. Every day I took 50,000 BioTech Pharmacal D3 + 5 Life Extension Super K and I felt great and had no problems at all, important thing is to take Vitamin K2 with it.

My health problem has greatly improved and is now nearly gone. At the moment I'm taking D3 again since the beginning of December 2015 and will take it for another few weeks until my bottle is finished, this will be enough for me this winter.

So if you take it occasionally, it wont make any harm to you, but if you plan to take high doses of it regularly you definitely need to take K2 with it! this is very important as it redirects calcium from your veins to your bones, otherwise you'll calcify veins and this can create some serious problems.

Personally, I got tired of reading various opinions on which form of K2 was best (mk-4 or mk-7). So, I just ended up buying Life Extension Super K. It contains k1, k2 (mk-4) and k2 (mk-7) - http://www.amazon.com/Life-Extension-Advanced-Complex-softgels/dp/B004GW4S0G. At least this way I know I'm getting good doses of all types. Also, the softgel is very small and easy to swallow.

K1 isn't useless, but K2 is the more desirable form for bone/cardiovascular health. Use the K1 but if you can buy a product with K2 next, this seems to be one of the better Vit. K supplements out there as it has 3 forms in efficacious doses.

Yep, agree with above.

I just had mine tested at home through http://www.grassrootshealth.net/
for around $75. I live in a warm sunny place, take 5000IU a day, and my level was about 73.

I also highly recommend taking with vitamin k2. I noticed my teeth felt stronger/cleaner when I started taking this one.

Not really a supplement, but Bulletproof Coffee is incredible for keeping your energy high.

If you're not one for coffee, you could always try Yerba Mate Tea (http://www.amazon.com/EcoTeas-Organic-Yerba-Loose-5-Pound/dp/B0012BSLWU/ref=sr_1_1?srs=5856181011&ie=UTF8&qid=1380594143&sr=8-1&keywords=yerba+mate)

In terms of supplements, I personally take Athletic Greens, krill oil, iodine, vitamin D, and vitamin K-complex (links below). You can set them on a subscription and never think about them again.

Vitamin K2 was recommended to me for vitamins for healing a stress fracture and was hard to find as a stand alone pill. While I was looking for it I found the blog I mentioned and his experiences with this pill. I have been taking this (one pill /day) http://amzn.com/B004GW4S0G for 2 weeks now and have noticed a lot less plaque building up between meals. It's also been almost 2 years since I had a dental cleaning so I am excited to see how clean they stay once I get a proper cleaning later this month.

Good luck to you

> It is a fat soluble vitamin, so if you are good about taking a little too much per day, eventually it will catch up with you if you live long enough.

Why? What do you mean by this?

>That's 4 pills.

Number of pills seems pretty irrelevant... I get 5k iu in one pill. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0032BH76O

And this is the k2 I take with it https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004GW4S0G

I take two of those.

----

Calcium I get from diet and multi.

Also, I have read that vitamin D may effect the circadian rhythm so I take the vitamin D in the morning. I take it every other day since 5k IU per day might be a lot considering there is a lot of sun here.

I'm using http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B004GW4S0G/ as I'm quite sure I won't be able to get myself to like natto.

No citation stack, I just play it by ear. Not doing quantified self since I don't trust the vendors with the data and as a whole it looks like a yet another way to spend money to pollute your life with even more data. I tend to minimalism as I get older.

I notice higher endurance and much better mood. It seems that Bacopa/ashwagandha have started producing more tangible results now. Definitely a far stronger effect than Rhodiola alone.

Another thing I didn't mention in my stack: I drink about 1 l of strong green tea daily (and about a l of black tea).

How do you feel about Life Extension?

It seems to have much higher doses of the good forms of K2 then any other K2 supplement I've seen.

Is the higher dosage beneficial or necessary?

u/soider8 · 1 pointr/TheRedPill

Ah I see, thanks again for the reply.

A quick search on amazon led me to these Vit K tablets which seem good from the reviews https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004GW4S0G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_d89VAbTCWQDMB

I will also build myself up to 6k UI daily in Vit D alongside taking Vit K. Do you know if it’s possible to take too much Vit K? I’m assuming the Vit K that is not used is pissed out.

I’m not sure if my bones are frail or not (my feet get tired/ache from standing too long?) however strangely enough I grew around 2-3 inches in height last year (age 21). At the time I was lifting/playing football, eating well and getting a good amount of sun exposure (walks I took daily as exam revision breaks) so I’m not sure if this was all related. The height thing is what initially caught my attention from your original post.

Edit: I’ve just realised that the link above is for a Vit K complex.

This seems better just for K2

It's been awhile since i've researched this, but about two years ago when i was looking for a Vitamin K2 supplement the Thorne Research - Vitamin K2 Liquid (1 mg/drop) - 30 ml product was by far the cheapest per mg. The bottle is expensive though (~$64 USD) but it has 1200 drops at 1mg of menatetrenone (MK4) per drop, so the daily cost (if you take 1 drop, or 1mg of MK4, per day) is only $.05 (5 cents). The Life Extension product that OP linked to for example is 20 cents per day (or 16 cents per mg of mk4+mk7), which is about 4 times more expensive than the Thorne Research product.

Yeah... I remember getting a prescription for triptans and it helped but it felt like it just masked the pain and didn't actually get rid of it.

I forgot exactly where i did the research, but this is what i take [almost] every day:

Sorry for the long reply, hopefully this helps. I feel like an old man taking pills every day, but it's better than having these headaches :D

I can't recommend actual doses as I don't know enough about them, but the consensus from /r/supplements led me to believe that this D3 supplement and this K supplement are proper and safe doses.

u/Tbonejones12 · 1 pointr/Fitness

Thanks for the awesome info. here. Would you say this is a good option?

A comment says: "This supplement contains 1000 mcg K1, 1000 mcg K2 as MK-4, and 100 mcg K2 as MK-7, for a total of 2100 mcg or 2625% of the RDA."
