>The pressure is equivalent to a super soaker water gun.

So if I didn't want to install a bidet...

Here's the link. They're discontinued IIRC, and not very good. The "clips" they use are a neat idea but it shoots a very small stream of water a very short distance.

They brought these back.

Battery powered Super Soakers

And feeder back pack.

I was in Iraq in 2007 (Kirkuk) when our Wing King set up the Air Force's first Combat Dining In on our base to celebrate the Air Force's 60th birthday. It was exactly like a normal Dining In, except you wore DCUs (our regular deployed uniform at the time) instead of Blues. We started the tradition because we wanted to celebrate the AF's birthday with a formal event, but nobody brought Blues on their deployment (imagine that). So we adopted the Combat Dining In tradition from the other services. Ever since then, I've seen nothing but Combat Dining Ins everywhere I go, even at normal stateside bases. As if people are too lazy to get dressed up in their Blues for an actual formal event.

Personally, I hate them because they've changed so much from a normal Dining In. Normally, it's a formal event. You dress up in your fanciest Blues uniform, you're given a list of rules to memorize, and then you partake in a formal but fun event. Anyone who breaks the rules goes to drink from the grog bowl. (Usually a toilet bowl with a mix of any kind of drinks and other consumable liquids you can find. Typically, someone drops a Baby Ruth in it so it looks like a floating turd. Just to add to the disgusting nature of the bowl.)

At some point, someone pointed out that the rules just call for a military uniform and doesn't specify beyond that, so people started wearing their parents' old WWII uniforms, or Civil War replica uniforms, or even something as ridiculous as Roman soldier uniforms. Nowadays, people don't even expect the uniform to be legit; you make your own by sewing/tearing apart old uniforms and adding ridiculous shit to it.

Now that people are doing Combat Dining Ins all the time, the formality of the event has gone away and people wear torn up uniforms, carry around squirt guns and water balloons, and basically act like idiots. My wife just attended one a week ago and they printed deployment orders for all the attendees, data on their "deployment" that they had to memorize (location, mission, etc.) and they had to register their "weapons" and process the line like an actual deployment just to get in the front door. They also had to take part in combat training and exercises during the Dining In.

I miss the formal events. Dining Ins were a fun event where you could feel like one of the 1% for an evening. Everyone's dressed to the nines, Proper manners are expected, strict societal standards are established, and anyone who doesn't adhere to the formal rules would be punished with a drink from the nasty grog bowl. It felt like you time-traveled to the early 20th century where people wore elegant ball gowns and fancy suits to formal dinners. It was an amazing experience that you just don't see anymore, so I always loved attending Dining Ins whenever I could.

Now, the Combat Dining Ins have turned into a costume party where you're expected to walk out soaking wet. The formality is gone, the event has become "work" more than play, and you can't just sit, eat dinner, and enjoy the evening's events. I'm surprised they don't hold these events outside in an open field or something. It'd be more "combat" than a formal ball room at the enlisted/officer's club.

I haven't attended a Combat Dining In since that first one back in Iraq and I don't plan to in the near future. But for those who enjoy the event, my wife bought two Super Soaker Thunderstorms and two spare High Capacity Banana Clip Refills to wear on her belt. She bought an old BDU uniform from the Airman's Attic, tore off the sleeves, and turned one of them into a bandana with her SSgt rank sewn into the middle of it. She also bought a BDU camo sun hat which she could swap out for the bandana. And of course, camo face paint. I dunno what other alterations she made.

TL;DR - I'm an old man bitching about how Combat Dining Ins ruined the Dining In experience. Also, get off my lawn! ^Damn ^kids ^these ^days.
