I tried Alpine Motosafe but they were crap; barely blocked anything, didn't seal right, pain in the ass to get in/out. Surefires are 1/3 the cost, block just the right amount, and are super comfy. Never leave home without them.

they equalize sound so loud sounds no longer disrupt me, I can still hear people talking etc.

wearing both at the same time, I am totally in my own world even somewhere noisy.
I swear by the surefire 5's on amazon. They come in three sizes so you might have to experiment by getting a set or two or three. They're fantastic and cut down my exhaust/wind noise quite a bit to almost no noise.
Then again.. I stuff them in there like I'm a prison escapee with his first date.

Have you tried the Surefire EarPro (EP4/EP5)? They have a small model.

I recently got these as an upgrade from the squishy rubber plugs my wife and I have been using for both shooting and concerts for a long time, and I'm super impressed with both the volume reduction and the fidelity.
Wore them for the first time at a Crowbar show a couple weeks back, and they were great. Everything was crystal clear.
