You know what literally changed my life?

This microchip-activated cat door.

Unlocks at 6:30 in the morning, so the cat can go in and out as it pleases. Locks at 6:45 in the evening, so it can come in whenever it decides to, but can no longer go out (you can program whatever times you want, of course - those are just my settings).

No begging cat waking me up in the morning to get out. No worrying about the cat when it decides to stay out or escape at night (live in a rural area with plenty of predators).

And it only unlocks for that cat, because microchip.

Love that thing.

I built enclosures for my two cats' individual feeding bowls to keep the tubby cat from stealing her brother's food and getting tubbier. Basically a crate with a cat door that opens when the correct collar token or embedded ID chip comes near. If built strong enough, should work vs trash pandas. (for "strong enough" think 2"x4" construction bolted to the deck.)
