You joke, but it's a real thing: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B010B5GUH0

Something I've found super helpful: I recently had to get glasses; not a strong prescription, but enough that I needed lens to drive. Anyway, I'm a programmer as well and you can get a blue light filter built into the lens material. http://www.allaboutvision.com/cvs/blue-light.htm (for info on blue light) And even if you don't need prescription glasses you can buy blue light filter glasses. Something like these: https://www.amazon.com/Blue-Light-Blocking-Glasses-Registered/dp/B010B5GUH0?th=1

Use the glasses anytime you are looking at a screen. Whether it's your phone, tv, or computer monitor. Blue light is part of what prevents you from sleeping well. Like if you look at your phone before bed, it can wake up your brain even though you are tired. Since I've had my glasses, I've fallen asleep faster and gotten better sleep. Like I used to wake up a few times a night, roll over, then fall back asleep. I usually don't wake up anymore...except in the morning when my alarm clock goes off.

TL;DR I'm nocturnal too, get blue light filter lens and it will help you sleep easier at night.

Electronics are a big issue in not being able to shut down for the evening. So turn off the tv or put down your phone.

My husband has a lot of trouble sleeping, but has had good luck with blue blocker glasses. They block out the blue end of the color spectrum and promote melatonin production. They just look like orange sun glasses.

She's talking about these items like she's familiar with them, "I love such and such!" But then she says she doesn't own anything on the list?

Sun Potion essentials kit—I love this brand though I can’t really afford them.

Blueblocker glasses— It really helped for me when I had the worst insomnia to invest in some blue light blocking eyewear.

Lord Jones CBD Bath Salts— A lot of CBD products don’t work for me, but somehow these do and I don’t even love baths that much!

Anti-radiation iPhone cases—Mine still looks like new and it’s been a year.

Berkey shower filter—This has been a huge game changer for me.

And so on. And then, at the end... "I should mention I don’t own many of these (hint hint!) but over the years I have researched them all and I can stand by them."

So which is it, PK? Do you already own most of the stuff on your list and you're just trying to get people to buy you more shit?

I've looked through the top 3 items listed on that sleepxp site, and they're all quite inferior to others on Amazon:

  • Blue Light Blocking Glasses Inside| Blue Blockers by Eye Love only blocks 30% of blue light and are designed for all-day and outdoor wear, while OP mentioned working late
  • Cyxus have clear lenses and again, don't block as much as other brands, but perhaps would be easier to disguise by OP. However, Prospek are also clear and have better ratings.
  • Twilight has many reviewers mentioning they break easily

I don't know how that list was compiled.

Far better reviewed on Amazon are the Swannies, the Spectra479 (including these clip-ons), or these $20 fit-overs.

I turn off all the lights in my office. Working in the dark is not harder on your eyes.

I use the Blue Light Filter or Night Mode in Windows 10 to remove the Blue Light Spectrum from my screens (This helps significantly)

I also use these from Amazon which is fantastic.
