hahah Im running it on a 1.6ghz dualcore with this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Targus-Lap-Chill-Mat-17-inch/dp/B002Q8X3L2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1382988859&sr=8-1&keywords=laptop+cooler
Your laptop is probably overheating. When they get to a certain temperature they automatically power off to attempt to avoid any hardware damage. Running games on laptops is quite a strenuous task for them, and will cause them to heat up considerably. I'd recommend picking yourself up a laptop cooler like this.
A Lenovo IdeaPad Z585 can run Skyrim on medium settings with about 30-35 fps:
And for a cooling pad you can take a look at this one.
I would recommend a laptop cooling board such as this:

Will cool your laptop using fans, however remains fairly portable
[I use a Targus one myself, it's reasonably good
I have this here. I find it does keep my temperature down a lot better, things run a little bit smoother, but it's just nice knowing it's not getting crazy hot. It's also just handy having something to rest your computer on.
You know, you can get things like this I always had my old laptop sitting on one
It's this one - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Targus-AWE55EU-Laptop-Cooling-laptop/dp/B002Q8X3L2. Works well for me and I have some friends with the same one and no issues. :)

These also have the useful side effect of keeping your laptop above spillages.
Ok, those are very toasty indeed.
Am I right in saying that the laptop is still stuttering?
I'm not gonna lie, but if you've changed the thermal paste and properly attached the heatsink, there's not much you can do to look after those laptop thermals. You can however invest in a heat pad, something a little like this
Have you thought of something like this?

I use this when laptop is on my lap:
Targus AWE55EU Laptop Cooling Pad - Black https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B002Q8X3L2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_9jaZAbJCA38NC
And this when it's on the desk with my monitor:
BestFire Laptop Cooling Pad Cooler Chill Mat with 5 Quiet Fans Blue LED Lights and 2 USB 2.0 Ports Laptop Cooler Notebook Cooler Fits 14"-17" https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01H8G4284/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_GHaZAb0A24S2P
Both work very well. The Targus has 2 built in fans that are relatively quiet, and has a padded coating, making it more comfortable on my lap.
The BestFire has 5 fans and blue LEDs that pair well with AlienFX, and keep the laptop cool under load. Mine never goes above 70 degrees.
Edit: Second Link.
