I'd suggest something like this instead of zipties. Less likely to pinch the wires and cause breakage. Might be prone to picking up dust though.

Our event group uses multiple regular patch cables run through a cable sleeve (like this (first google hit as an example): https://www.amazon.com/Techflex-CCP1-00BK25-1-Inch-Braided-Sleeve/dp/B004SQYTG8 ) secured with zip ties. On the ends you can either install RJ45 female modules (loose or in a suitable box) or then just regular male connectors depending on the use.

Congrats on a new desk and overall great setup, but here are a few quick thoughts.

  • Build/get a raised laptop stand. Never used this one but something like this. It will give you space under it as well as raise the "monitor" of the laptop to a higher level to help even it out with the actual monitor.

  • Maybe sleeve your cables together so they are neater.

  • Are two lamps needed?
