It makes the most sense if I believe the Bible is truly given from God. -- So I have inspected the Bible looking for "God's Fingerprints" to see if he wrote it.

It's full of prophecies that have come true:

It's about Jesus who veritably rose from the dead according to the testimony of history

So why isn't everyone who is sincere in a faith that recommends doing good works going to heaven? IDK who is going to heaven. God will have as much mercy as He wants:

>What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Certainly not! For He says to Moses: “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” So then, it does not depend on man’s desire or effort, but on God’s mercy. (Romans 9:15)

Every other major religion has that same problem. Why believe in Allah because he condemns Christians and Jews?

Does that mean these religions are faulty? If you inspect them closely I think only Christianity makes sense. God made a perfect world. Adam chose rebellion. Adam knew that in the Garden of Eden he was going to die if he chose the Fruit that gave him knowledge of Good and Evil. He wanted to know evil, because he saw God and spoke with him face to face. He was in a pristine environment .
He knew good and could live eternally knowing more and more good. But, he wanted to know evil. Therefore, God should have killed him right there... God said: "In the day you eat of it, you will surely die" - He didn't die. He lived on because God made another promise that from the seed of a woman (virgin birth through Mary) Christ would come and defeat the serpent (devil) that caused him to sin. If you follow these thoughts, you wind up realizing that God doesn't need to have compassion on any of the human race. He simply could have stopped it after Adam and re-started. But he story of Christianity shows that God is merciful, loving - but willing to allow his children to NOT choose him and pay the price. He lets them choose - and after centuries of choosing wrongly...we have false religions in addition to the one true one. It's OUR invention to explain God away... it's not God's problem to fix it - but he does out of mercy in his divinely appointed time.

But see... if we want to explore tough questions like this, it's going to take a LOT more learning, exploration etc. These are not easy questions and Christians regularly disagree on them and STILL remain with faith in Jesus who died and rose for their sins.

That's the focus. Find out if Jesus is who he said he is... the rest comes as you walk the walk of faith.

Blessings upon you my friend.
