Establish decent sleep habits early - seriously, even if you're "awake," if you're in zombie mode in class standing in the back with a podium, you're not gonna remember, retain, or comprehend for shit. (was the class zombie, and was damn close to my section's anchorman)

Make sure you're getting some PT in. It sounds like they've cut back the max number of hours you can spend in the classroom on hours, so take advantage of the forced break and get out and move around. Physical activity will help with energy level, as well as focus.

Get a good blue-screen app for your phone/ tablet/ other devices, and don't sit up on them until all hours of the night. It'll only make it harder to sleep.

Avoid the late-night snacks and soft drinks. Those throw off your digestive system and everything else.

If you have a chance, look up more on this guy. I can't recommend the book enough.
