I finished the unabridged audiobook of The Subtle Knife by Phillip Pullman. I absolutely adored this and am 3 disks into The Amber Spyglass!
I HOPE I will finish Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell today. I'm tired of reading it. It is quite good, but I'm now just getting reading exhaustion - 2 months. Gah.
I'm reading The Combat Codes by Alexander Darwin - a scifi/mma book. I was sent a preview copy, and it seems promising.
I have a few others on my table that are up next: book 3 & 4 in The Last Apprentice and Ready Player One.
Thanks for xposting to r/mma, I don't browse r/bjj enough to see your AMA but after hearing a brief description of the book I had to pick up the kindle copy for only $2.99! I'm now looking forward to reading it.
Really enjoyed The Combat Codes: https://www.amazon.com/Combat-Codes-Saga-Book-ebook/dp/B017OMXR7O
Book 2 is supposedly in the works.
Combat Codes is a dystopian fantasy novel written by a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt, focusing heavily on grappling and MMA. The author is a regular over on /r/bjj. Also I am pretty sure /u/willweisser , author of Ankaran Immersion is a high level grappler - not sure if grappling features heavily in that one but maybe he can tell you more about it. I haven't read either of these books, but they're both on my TBR and I've heard good things.
The Combat Codes is a really good science fiction book about MMA that goes into great detail during the fight scenes. a bit like the book enders game mixed with MMA. Really good read, once i started it I couldn't put it down
The guy who wrote The Combat Codes, (https://www.amazon.com/Combat-Codes-Saga-Book-ebook/dp/B017OMXR7O#navbar) who also posts here, does a great job with this.
