Just chill out, Gordon Chang has been trying for a decade to prognosticate the coming collapse of the Chinese economy. It's easy to call that out, it's difficult to get the timing right.

Forbes proves over and over again that its headlines cannot be trusted. On the exact same day this article with the headline Property Prices Collapse in China. Is This a Crash? is published, another piece titled China Real Estate Prices Slowly Declining As Policy Demands Take Hold was also published.

This is a difference in kind. Chang's suggesting a total policy failure. Rapoza's suggesting a policy success.

everything you cited is literally change, many of them negative.

not even getting into veracity of the statements, when you pay your bills, does your bank balance stay the same? lmk what bank you use.

edit, as to veracity: 5G, EVs, and HSR, but you already knew that. not an issue of 'catching up', i.e. adopting past technologies

social engineering examples of govt initiative: social credit system, facial tracking, 2 child policy

doom and gloom gordan chang, yea china would be really effed if it played by market rules. how does inflation work when the govt sets the prices? Cabbage shortage 2015-16, farmers got their prices capped. stock market was and can be suspended at drop of more than 3%. Bank accounts can be frozen if ppl try to withdrawal.

belt and road is power play for geo-politic and not economic values. and china has been hemorrhaging cash from SOEs for decades, wheres the collapse.

I already admitted on CCP's behalf we are going to genocide, assimilate, and interbred the Tibetans/Muslims into extinction just like white people did to Native Americans.

Now that we got that settled, I am racist? I do your side of the argument good, since you assert Chinese maltreatment exists. I agree with you!

Hopefully, we can have a Tibetan/Muslim corathus59 fighting on behalf of CCP - white people have done very well. Applaude.

> far before 2011

The most infamous example of this genre!

> weaker Yuan and a push to even higher exports

Just to defend the article I put up, the obvious objections are: a) what's to stop everyone devaluing in turn? b) where is the demand for all these exports going to come from? c) How will the ordinary Chinese feel about the reduction in living standards due to devaluation? d) More broadly, will this provoke increased political reactions in countries being exported to?

But what about Facebook and Internet?

Look what happened to Soviet Russia which is was also authoritarian communist like China. Also, most of China's GDP is due to the construction of giant ghost cities in which no people live.
