Why is the specter/spectacle/spectral so important? How does it become the new apeiron of the commodity "fetish"?

Really in my mind all this sub does differently than postmodern philosophy or sociology etc is it puts the surrealist discovery of magic/alchemy/sorcery back into a premier position of "why" the spectacle is primary above commodity fetishism itself. Why it is a "new world".

I have mentioned before that the spectacle-as a conservative estimate- at the very least, at least doubles the amounts of commodities by providing a "prompted" image of it. But in reality, with the new faux-sensorium of the spectacle, each commodity is multiplied infinitely. Each real object becomes the ever-expanding fetish satiation of the body politic. In other words, each person because of their intimate interpretation and reception of the particular commodity via spectacle, "images"/imagines the commodity as unique to their interpretation of it based on how it will or will not satiate their desire/fantasy/fetish.

An academic study of "the fetish" via google scholar or similar would be interesting for many I think.
