Holger Herwig - Germany and Austria-Hungary 1914-1918
Jack Sheldon - The German Army on the Western Front 1915 Plus many other in that series can be found in the related links section
John Williams - Corporal Hitler in the Great War - The List Regiment
Mustafa Aksakal - Ottoman Road to War
Edward Erikson - Ordered to Die: A History of the Ottoman Army in the First World War Fantastic book and maybe the only good English general history of the war from the Ottoman's point of view but seems to be horribly expensive now
>Also, are there any two volume books that cover WWI and then WWII or even an author that has written a good history of both wars (preferably in 2 books)?
There is no one author with enough intimate knowledge on either the entirety of the First World War or the Second World War. To attempt to find someone who proclaims him/herself able to do justice to both wars is farcical at best.
If you want an introduction, try the following:

Et forslag kunne være John Keegans bog om krigen:

Alt af John Keegan er generelt værd at læse, hans klassiker "The face of battle" har også noget om Somme slaget.
For en detaljeret generel gennemgang af krigen set fra Tyskland/østrig ungarns synspunkt er Holger Herwigs bog her fantastisk:

Here we are, these are what I found useful. http://www.amazon.com/First-World-War-Austria-Hungary-1914-1918/dp/0340573481/ref=sr_1_4?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1415699430&sr=1-4&keywords=Austria+Hungary+First+World+War http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Habsburg-Monarchy-1809-1918-Austria-Hungary/dp/0140134980/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1415699465&sr=8-1&keywords=Taylor+Hapsburg+Empire
The Croats, under Jellacic, had pretty much saved the Empire in 1848, and were thus regarded as loyal supporters.
