Peter Hart and his book on the Cork IRA keep creeping into my history courses, and as an exercise we watched this video in one of my classes.

Past the obvious folkloric aspect of the documentary (Tom Barry can tell no lies and the songs), it does show an interesting bit about the historiography regarding the IRA. Plus read those comments - there's some serious anger about this subject. I was also lucky (is that the right word?) enough to have one of the biggest Hart critics, Niall Meehan, come and kick up a fuss at the Contemporary Irish History seminar at TCD.

Thought I'd throw it in here and see what people had to say about the subject.
