For casual reading, I like the Holman Christian Standard Bible or the New Revised Standard Version. When I want to go old school, nothing beats the KJV. I use the KJV in conjunction with Strongs when studying the Bible's language.

I used to love the Living Bible when I was a kid. I still have a hardback copy and the Kindle version. Warning: it's a paraphrase, but nowhere as bad as the Message. (I think the Message is great for light reading, but terrible for actual study).

When I hit my late teens I started using the NASB and it remains my favourite to this day.

Currently I'm using the NIV Study Bible app on my Kindle whilst I do a read the Bible in a year thing. I have an ESV Study Bible coming soon from Amazon, so I may switch to that. (There's currently no ESV Study Bible app for android - although there's one for iOS - and although I have the Kindle version it's a pain to use).
