Ok so I've seen this question posed several times and feel I should chime in.

Firstly consider this article.

This wasn't the first time I heard this, but rather I searched for an article which aligned with what I read in this book.

I think you guys should try to put aside your machismo and consider that men having a strong desire to have a family or group to protect and care for is not a bad thing.

If anything I think it is more striking that those who make it the furthest have a strong desire to win for their family, not just test themselves and reach a new limit.

And to those who say they've never seen a man cry. Have you never played/watched competitive sports or watched interviews with war veterans? When you care deeply about a person or a group of people and share a common goal, not reaching that can be devastating. Also crying is a physiological response, a release of emotion, and not something to be ashamed of.

Hope that this is received well, and if your looking for an enjoyable read check out that book. Cheers.
