Best book resource would be The Reiki Sourcebook by Bronwen and Frans Steine. My favorite online resource is aetw.org. Reiki tends to be one of the basic and entry-level energy practices for most people and it's quite limited in that it has specific hand positions and a few symbols, but most people won't explain the meaning behind the symbols in anything but a superficial way. The book I mentioned above helps to go deeper into their meanings and uses. I also posted an energy exercise on my profile called "Singing Chakra Balancing Technique" that can basically replace using the symbols. The symbols were meant to be training wheels for those who can't feel energy and have no power in and of themselves, so if you are interested in Reiki, you should learn them but don't feel limited to using them if your intuition tells you otherwise.

  1. Line up some people to practice on while you are awaiting reiki II.
  2. Do your self reiki and gassho every day
  3. Start reading about reiki history and theory so you can contextualize what you've learned and what you are going to learn. I recommend "The Reiki Sourcebook" (https://smile.amazon.com/Reiki-Sourcebook-Revised-Expanded/dp/1846941814?sa-no-redirect=1) and "Essential Reiki" (https://smile.amazon.com/Essential-Reiki-Complete-Ancient-Healing/dp/0895947366/ref=sr_1_1?)
