The Thran has got to be one of my favorite books, and thats not just considering Mtg novels. Its just an incredibly engaging story. Highest possible recommendation.

Do you or have you played Magic: The Gathering? I can't help but think of the Magic story The Thran and the early Antiquities era of Magic from reading this

Their pre-Phyrexian forms were Thran, right? Do we know what they looked like? THis book cover makes it look like white folk: https://www.amazon.com/Thran-Magic-Gathering-Robert-King/dp/0786916001

I enjoyed reading them. They provide a deep background story behind the characters in the cards. They are good serial novel quality.

I would start with The Thran and The Brothers War.

If you enjoy those two, you'd like the rest of the series.
