It was called The Visionary Position, I think, and it was largely about Tom Furness getting reamed up the you know what by RR, Steve Wiley and the gang, and lamenting that it was taking so long to commercialize VRD. Apparently, the reaming had barely begun, the waiting for Godot knows what was just getting started, and we are all now Tom Furness. BUTT, and it is a big but, I know, the project continued somehow, ridiculously, never-endingly, impossibly in any normal sense really, yet here we are: waiting for the imminent 2019 release of what Furness dreamed about back in the '80s and somehow, despite everything (yes, yes, we know the whole story) MVIS' name is still attached to the story.

But for it being true (we think), it would be ridiculous.

Edit. From the NY Times and one from Amazon
