Yeah it's really intriguing, and I say that as someone who's never experienced EDs. Interesting how it's been attributed to different causes- religion, femininity, lesbianism (lol) etc etc. There's also The Wonder by Emma Donoghue which is a fictional account of one of the nurses who was hired to "witness" one of the Fasting Girls- I'd also recommend it!
