I got mine offline... if you get it at a store you MUST be sure it is 100% pure with no fillers or anything else. I bought this one off Amazon, but if you can’t buy it there, be so so so sure that if you buy pure vitamin C in a store there’s nothing else in it or else you risk overdosing on whatever the filler or additives are. Follow up on the brand you buy in store, and don’t trust the sales clerk 100%. Hopefully though, you can just buy the one I linked you because that’s the one.

Thank you so much!! It definitely was still a struggle but I had tried and failed many times in the past and this time when I discovered Vitamin C usages for opiate withdrawal, the difference for me (compared to my previous attempts without it) was truly a night and day difference. This is the one that I used: https://www.amazon.com/Thompson-Ascorbic-Antioxidant-Supplement-Excipients/dp/B000WUCMGS/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=vitamin+c+powder&qid=1562011964&s=gateway&sprefix=Vitamin+c+powder&sr=8-3 I had tried Vitamin C tablets and chewables but they really didn't work. The high dose powder is absolutely the way to go. And I jumped off completely at 2mg.

I learned that from Konrad, the guy who makes KWZI inks - he recommended using crushed vitamin C tablets, but I bought the powder as it's more pure and easier to use. In my experience soaking the nib in it for a while really helps clean and brighten it up, and it seems to help get rid of any iron particles left in the feed or section. http://kwzink.com/language/en/manufactured-inks/iron-gall-inks/fountain-pens-iron-gall/

There have also been discussions on the FPN forums of this and various other mild acids to use, but vitamin C seems pretty harmless, easy to obtain, and works well. Some people recommend using it for IG inks before using any base cleaner like ammonia. Very diluted vinegar is another possibility, but I'm not sure if it might react with some pen materials, not to mention leave an odour or film.

You can get pure ascorbic acid/vitamin C powder in a lot of drug stores or online at places like Vitacost or Amazon. Just get the pure stuff, without any additives or buffering or calcium. About 1/4 teaspoon in a glass of water, or however much will dissolve, is plenty. (It dissolves better in warm water although I usually just use cold.) Here's an example from Amazon - https://smile.amazon.com/Thompson-Ascorbic-Antioxidant-Supplement-Excipients/dp/B000WUCMGS/ref=sr_1_6_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1543188838&sr=8-6&keywords=vitamin+c+powder

A bottle like that will last a long time (unless you also take it as a vitamin!). I only use it occasionally.
