Hmm for shading I recommend [blending stumps] (https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B002PNTI30/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_FZ.CDbEY4ZC2K). What I do is lightly color the areas I want to shade with my graphite (use the side of the lead, not the tip). It won't be smooth, but then use can use the blending stumps to smooth out that shading.
I also recommend the Tombow Mono Zero Eraser for fine detail erasing.
