I use the Spigen Kuel A200 magnetic mount on my phone in the car. Like the Note7 and S7 Edge I had before my Note 9, this mount is capable of supporting the phone in my car through 99% of my driving with the exception of extreme bumps WITHOUT any additional magnetic material added to the case or phone. There is enough force from the magnets to the magnetic material already in the phone to support it. The mount does come with magnetic stickers (well, I guess ferrous stickers) to improve the magnetic force, but I find them unnecessary. Also these stickers interfere with wireless charging which I use a lot.

edit - I didn't go through lots of mounts or anything so I can't say if other magnetic mounts work well enough. This one worked on the first try back with my Note7 so I never had to try any others. This is the one I use. No yellowing yet, but I've only had it for a little over a month. Not sure how long it normally takes for clear cases to start yellowing.

I have this one: TORRAS Crystal Clear Galaxy Note 9 Case. It's very thin while still giving some decent drop protection. At first glance people think I don't have a case on. It has a nice grip but slips in a pocket easily.
