I'd buy that, then you have the option of using the DSS2 on a different pair of headphones in the future. The DSS2 is worth like 40 on its own.

I'm assuming xbox?
I always prefer wired to wireless. I'd reccomend the turtlebeach DLX1, which includes a DSS2 sound processor(similar to an astro mixamp). The headphones are very comfortable. I have one, and you can plug connect your pc to the DSS2, and have pc sound and xbox sound at the same time. Usually 100 dollars 75 bucks on amazon right here Those are also surround sound so really the best deal in my opinion. If you break your headphones you can still get surround sound if you keep the DSS2 processor, and plug in any pair of headphones.

Edit: the DSS2 alone costs about 65 bucks so this is a really good deal wish I would've gotten it myself.

Look at this headset. I know it says Xbox 360, but the PS4 chat (at launch) will work just like the 360 since there is no option for bluetooth. http://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Beach-Surround-Gaming-Headset-6306200/dp/B006W41X18/ref=sr_1_10?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1382763243&sr=1-10&keywords=dolby+headset
I know that is slightly over your budget, but this the cheapest headset that will work with the PS4 at launch since there is no analog at all and bluetooth will come at a later date. A headset is a worthy investment, especially since this one will also let the game audio go through it (unlike the one that comes with the ps4) so you won't disturb anyone.

The cheap version:

Audio splitter

Cheap Mic

Plug mic and headphones into splitter, then both into Xbox One controller.

Expensive(ish) version with better sound:

Audio splitter

ModMic

TurtleBeach DSS2(note I linked the headset because it's cheaper than buying the DSS2 separately)

Plug the Xbox One optical out into the DSS2 and the USB from the DSS2 into the Xbox One. Plug the mic into the splitter and the splitter into the controller. Plug the 3.5mm to 3.5mm extension cable (included w/ the DSS2) from the Headphone port on the splitter to the AUX port on the DSS2. Plug your headphones into the DSS. Go into Xbox One settings and turn your game volume down to 0 so that your controller only outputs chat audio, then switch your audio on your console to Dolby Digital optical out.

Basically what this does is sends the chat audio into the DSS2, then the DSS2 sends both the optical sound and the chat audio directly to your headphones. The DSS2 will give you higher quality audio (since it's not wireless) and virtual surround sound.

EDIT: I found a picture of what I'm talking about, but this is referencing the Astro Mixamp (the DSS2 does the same thing): picture
