Note that you will need a USB3 A to USB3 A cable, something like https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Transfer-Enclosures-Printers-Cameras/dp/B00P0E39CM/ , to connect the Shield to a computer and launch TWRP

You can use this tutorial, but instead of SuperSU, flash Magisk-V12: http://nvidiashieldzone.com/shield-android-tv/android-7-nougat/tutorial-root-shield-android-tv-2017-16gb-nougat/

The "square looking one" is a Mini Display port and can be used instead of the HDMI. If you have the HDMI then you don't need to worry about that one.

For the USB, any USB 3.0 A to A cable will do. Probably even a 2.0 spec one will work but they're around the same price so just get a 3.0 to be sure.

That will only get you back to the original length though. See the sidebar for a guide on which cables you'll need to extend through to the other room.

Another 3-in-1 cable will actually work to extend by 5m. you can just power the link box from halfway so perhaps this might work for going through the wall idea. Depending on wall material, I would go with that option (am electrician so it'd be easy for me) but that depends on a lot of factors.

You will find cables that'll work and are long enough if you search the guides in the sidebar.

Edit: You can also make it work in the mean time by using the link box to join the power cables then plugging the HDMI and USB straight into your computer (bypassing the linkbox)
