Hopping on this comment as it's the most important in the thread.

Despite emergentketo's demeanor, this is the truth. You don't need to worry about supplements unless you're going over a week.

I've found this Ultima Electrolyte Supplement and it's changed my world. No sugar, natural sweetener, 0 calories, and I've been taking 4 servings a day with water (basically 2 servings = 1 liter).

Compared to my first water fast, this one has been a breeze, thanks to supplementing with electrolytes.

If you're going over a week, or you feel dizzy, lightheaded, or sore- than you need to get some electrolytes. Case closed.

Personally, I’m going to supplement with Ultima Replenisher Electrolyte Hydration Powder, a relatively cheap and easy find I looked up on Amazon.

Generally, look for electrolyte mixes and such with sodium, magnesium, and potassium. Extra stuff is nice but not necessary. If you’re feeling faint or breathless during the day, drink water with dissolved Himalayan salt slowly, and you should feel better. I’m still feeling this out - just like you - but as I learn from my mistakes and do more research, this is what I have found to be useful.

I keep extra packets of a really good electrolyte powder to give as gifts (this is the brand I use: https://www.amazon.com/Ultima-Replenisher-Electrolyte-Formula-Stickpacks/dp/B01EGP1KYY/ref=sr_1_2_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1478884562&sr=8-2&keywords=ultimate+replenisher). I also keep extra lip balms to give.

Hands down, the most important thing to me for self-care is vinegar water & moisturizer. I have naturally oily skin, and even so, Burning Man is the only place/time that I moisturize multiple times a day (normally, I only do it after a hot bath). Also important is using coconut oil to moisturize the inside of my nose. I put it on a q-tip and swish it around up there, wait a few minutes, blow my nose to get the playa boogers out, then put more up. I find it works better than most things.

I think the most "useful" gift I've ever gotten was an ice cold beer out on the deep playa. Didn't exactly save my life, but it make the moment even nicer than it was. :)

Not sure where you fall with artificial sweeteners, but these Ultima sticks were recommended by a friend. An easy way to try electrolytes for 20 days and see if it makes a difference.

I was worried I was having electrolyte problems so I bought a sampler pack of these and I’ve been drinking one a day:

I like the flavors, but have no idea if it’s making a difference.

I'm 5'2", and yes, it's harrrrrd. I'd try incorporating the other suggestions into your meal plan first, if you haven't already.

Beyond that, I buy these. They are pricey, but they work for me, so I wanted to share: https://www.amazon.com/Ultima-Replenisher-Electrolyte-Formula-Stickpacks/dp/B01EGP1KYY

They would be completely portable for your trip (I'm just not sure about U.K. availability, which is a wild guess at where you are). I have an 18 oz water bottle I carry everywhere and I use one packet in each fill.

Each serving has 100mg mag, 250mg pot, 55mg sod, no cals. Low on sodium which I know is a struggle for you, but I personally never have trouble hitting that one.

Edit: Similar to mio, but powdered. Tastes like koolaid.

I may have, but don't recall it specifically. I had a zero carb electrolyte pack in my bag for a while, but have since not replaced it. It was something like This but I don't recally the exact brand I had floating around.

I use these; zero sugar, zero carb:

Edit: I didn't answer your other questions... From what I've gathered, it's best to do your work out on a completely empty fasted stomach and then replenish yourself afterwards when your muscles are prepared for nutrient uptake. I would also say that its better to get your micronutrients and electrolytes from/with food all the time. I happen to like my meats salty so that's never an issue for me.
