Ready for Takeoff by UNT

Edit: it may be cheaper from other websites depending on shipping

UNT Ready For Take Off is the peel off base coat, it's the granddaddy of them all!

Simplynailogical video to show it off for ya!

So I don't really have any good advice for dealing with parents or convincing them short of just having a conversation about how it's becoming normal, and it's not about cross dressing, or being girly for you, but that it just makes you happy.

I'm almost 30 and i've been living on my own for years now, but my father still doesn't know I like nail polish... he gave me crap when i got both my ears pierced, he thought i wanted to start cross dressing, he was fine once i told him to look around next time he goes to the mall and see all of the guys with both ears pierced. Now... nail polish isn't quite there yet, but soon i hope!

my best advice for now is get a good peel off base coat... then you can take it off at a moments notice...

I do not use gel for the simple reason that buffing the nail thins it out. This will make your nails weak and flexible. Further, improperly-removed gel polish will damage the nail surface. The best option would be to take a break from gel, paint with nail polish, and grow your nails out for a few months, which will restore the thickness and strength of your natural nails.

However, if you cannot abide getting rid of gel for a few months, you can use UNT Peel-Off base coat, found on Amazon and some other places. It’s a little expensive right now... I bought some a couple of months ago and it was like $10 or something. Don’t know why the price jumped. Anyways, using this peel-off base coat underneath a gel manicure will make it much easier to remove the mani and will nullify the need to buff your nails before you begin. However, your mani will not last as long - maybe a week or so before it wants to come off. I would recommend this video which uses the UNT-gel technique I just described to see that in action.

Hope this helps!

I love using UNT's "Ready for Takeoff", it's a peel off base coat, so you can easily remove the nail polish any time without having to clean with acetone. If you're worried about having it on at work, I'd recommend using the peel off base under the polish so that you can just pop it off before work.

That said, if your concern is ridicule - just tell them. A girl wanted to paint your nails. As long as you're confident, it's their problem if someone else's nails offend them.

When testing gel colours I use a peel off base coat. I currently use Unt and it works well with gels. You can the go to town with your picking and peeling!

I would recommend the UNT peel off base coat. Here is a link on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Takeoff-Peelable-Cuticle-Non-glue-Bloggers/dp/B002BZ361W They will just pop off easily. You may want to leave a slight edge around your cuticles with no base coat so the polish can adhere to your nail a little bit so they last more than a few hours or days. (Not sure if that makes any sense)

You can also get it from Amazon, fulfilled by UNT so it's still free shipping but none of the membership benefits. (Could be good if you prefer Amazon for some reason?) http://www.amazon.com/UNT-READY-TAKEOFF-Peelable-Base/dp/B002BZ361W

Thanks for posting this review, I've had my eye on it for ages but I've not been sure whether it's worth it or not. Does it remove easily without damaging nails? Have you tried it with Vite? I have SH instadry anyway, but Seche Vite is better with chunky glitter usually.

Edit: I just ordered, they still have the same polish as the sign up gift, they also have a sunscreen as the birthday gift if you spend $20+ AND a value pack with 2 x peel off base coats plus a pink with glitter nail polish for $20. http://www.shopunt.com/eng/value-sets/C/50

So that means my total order is $20USD for 2 peel off base coats, two other nail polishes, a sunscreen, and shipping. Pretty good deal I reckon!

This One is hands-down the best there is. Its the one Simply Nailogical (a very, very good nail art youtuber) uses. She even did a video testing out a bunch of others if you'd like to check it out!
