This one is the most consistent, and works as advertised.

Have done hours of testing now.

Max amps recorded to a 6P has been 2880mAh. So far this has been the best of the chargers I've tested for the Type-C phones.

I'm was originally concerned with its output consistency, but it does charge at rates comparable to the stock charger and throttles appropriately.

The cable itself is very thin compared to the official cable, but doesn't feel poorly made.

The device itself is very nice, with chamfered edges, and a chrome bevel. There is a tiny white LED as well. It's not annoying.

This definitely beats out the "red chargers", even the Vinsic that Benson reviewed. I have tested that one as well and it cannot handle two devices, nor can it match this chargers consistency.

This is what I have It caused me no issues over a year of use on both Pixel 1 and Nexus 5X.

I've since upgraded to a car that has Android auto so I only keep it as a backup charger if someone else needs to charge quickly. So I couldn't tell you about its performance with the Pixel 2, but it should be very similar if not identical to the Pixel 1 experience.

I bought this one the other day, and it has quick charging and a USB C and normal USB port. Works super well:

u/lsf87 · 5 pointsr/GooglePixel

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Nekteck-Charger-Adapter-Integrated-Macbook/dp/B0172QQNBY (it's on Amazon US as well). Charges rapidly and looks pretty good :). Has a type c cable built in which clicks in well and doesn't fall out. I have my dash cam plugged into the standard usb slot and it will power that and charge the phone at the same time (I use Google maps for navigation).

u/Wolf_Fluffer · 4 pointsr/GooglePixel

I use the Nekteck 5.4A USB-C Car Charge(4019006) which I highly recommend. It's a Benson approved USB-C car charger and has a standard USB A port as well. Amusingly enough it seems to charge my phone faster than the stock Google pixel charger though this hasn't been tested.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0172QQNBY/ is what I bought. It is a -1 on the list but it is also Benson's personal unit. I figure if he rocks it I should be good. There are no standout car chargers right now.

u/ScottTenorman54 · 3 pointsr/GooglePixel

From what I understand, it is indeed your port. https://www.howtogeek.com/309766/want-fast-charging-dont-use-your-cars-usb-ports/

A 12 volt socket to USB-A cable will charge your phone normally, and if you want to rapid charge, go with a 12 volt to USB-C cable like this. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0172QQNBY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_hkxhAbKVY1HF8

Hope that helps, I had the same problem coming from iPhone.

u/foosion · 3 pointsr/GooglePixel

Many usb-c car chargers have a usb-a port, so presumably you could use the c cable for the pixel and plug a lightening cable into the a port.

For example, https://www.amazon.com/charger-Nekteck-Charger-Adapter-Integrated/dp/B0172QQNBY

Lightening quick charge could be a problem with this.

u/freducation · 2 pointsr/GooglePixel

I didn't see a Benson review in Amazon, but I know it was in this compilation of Benson approved items: http://astore.amazon.com/ba026-20/detail/B0172QQNBY

Not sure what to think of that anymore. I have this charger and I'm a little hesitant to continue using it.

u/Nixflyn · 2 pointsr/PoliticalDiscussion

There are actually a ton of good type C car chargers out there, or at least a hardwired type C cable with an additional type A plug for everything else. You won't get rapid charging using type A to C.

I have this one, but there are a ton of options.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0172QQNBY/ref=mp_s_a_1_17?ie=UTF8&qid=1481651916&sr=8-17&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=Type+C+car+charger&dpPl=1&dpID=411X6qKZ7ZL&ref=plSrch

As for type C wall chargers, a bunch exist too. I use a tronsmart wall charger with both a type C and type A output. They're about $15.

u/cjruk1 · 2 pointsr/Nexus6P

I've had this one since I bought the 6P. I also bought one for my wife since she has the 5X. It's an excellent charger.

u/Strongbuns · 2 pointsr/Nexus6P

Can someone recommend a car charger for me? I'm seeing conflicting views on quick charging (which would be a plus). Does it have to have a usb c port? Looking at these two right now:

Nektek

Tronsmart

u/PixelMover · 2 pointsr/Nexus6P

I've been using this one since December. "Rapidly charging." No issues so far. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0172QQNBY

Here's the car charger I use: USB Type C Car charger, Nekteck 5.4A USB-C Car Charger Adapter with Integrated Built-in Type-C 3.1 Cord for Google Pixel 2/ Pixel/ Pixel XL Galaxy S9/ S9 Plus/ Note 8/ S8/ S8 Plus More, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0172QQNBY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_-Uw7Ab0WFATB2

Honestly battery problems really caused me a lot of stress so if you're anything like that, just spend $50 and get it replaced at a phone repair store. Then it won't matter about getting a charger. If your battery is randomly dying, then chargers are just a waste of money.

u/rockcanada · 2 pointsr/GooglePixel

Why would you spend $15 on a $800 phone. So many videos of cheap knock off and even the big names don't follow spec including Anker. Don't be cheap and just buy a Google charger.

I bought this Anker before I found this subreddit and the spreadsheet. It works fine but does not rapid charge, I don't think it's USB-PD.

I then bought this Nekteck after looking at the spreadsheet just after people said to not buy the Belkin. It does rapid charge but according the notes on the spreadsheet does not support USB-PD. It's kind of a no name brand though and I don't really trust it long term to be honest.

I just bought this other Anker which should arrive tomorrow so we'll see how well it compares.

Either way I'm going to end up selling 2 chargers on Craigslist very soon. Maybe I'll just cave and sell all 3 and drop $100 on this Kanex or $140 on this MOS Go battery bank and hope no news comes out about how shit it is.

Here's the 3A USB-C one I use. Works great. Benson Leung has mentioned it in his blog.

u/WunDumGuy · 2 pointsr/GooglePixel

I got this one and it has been working flawlessly since September last year.

I'd get a cigarette lighter to ac adapter and use the wall charger or something like this

u/Fargo_Zoidberg · 2 pointsr/GooglePixel

I got this one from the same manufacturer:

Works great

USB Type C Car charger, Nekteck... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0172QQNBY?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

This has worked perfectly for me and it rapid charges my pixel 2 which you'll probably need with that crazy battery drain.

u/handhygiene · 2 pointsr/Nexus

I've used [this Nektek] (https://www.amazon.com/charger-Nekteck-Charger-Adapter-Integrated/dp/B0172QQNBY) since February and it works perfectly. Benson Leung approved

u/CatDaddy5 · 2 pointsr/Nexus6P

I use this one. It's very fast, has quick charge/rapid charge or whatever the Nexus has. The lock screen always says charging rapidly. Plus there's a usb port for another device that charges up to 2.4amps. It's a great charger imo.

u/WillByers · 1 pointr/Moto_Z

Thanks for the review. Mine just got delivered today so gotta wait til after work to test. Mainly got this so I could charge and use aux at the same time. Which car charger did you go with? I went with this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0172QQNBY/ because others on XDA said it turbo charged.

u/commodorecrush · 1 pointr/Moto_Z

Another good one on Amazon that I purchased has worked great.

u/MkVsTheWorld · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

I only have the Nekteck

I bought the coiled version, but it didn't charge anywhere near 3a, according to Ampere. So, I returned it to Amazon.

u/zman0900 · 1 pointr/nexus5x

I've got this thing and it charges just as fast as the stock wall charger. Cable is built in for about the same price as other chargers with no cable. Has an extra 'A' port too that is supposed to work full speed at the same time, but I've never tried that.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0172QQNBY

u/fwtx7 · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

I know its not exactly what you asked for, but its the closest I've found and its worked for me. Type-C Built in with second Type-A port. It's 5.4 amps shared, so if you have a compativle A to C cable, both phones should be able to rapid charge.

u/there_wreck · 1 pointr/nexus5x

Living in Los Angeles.

With this charger, I can have my N5X running navigation, bluetooth, and pandora with my phone fully charged. Amazon says I purchased this in July 2016, so it's been a good 3 months or so worth of usage with no problems for me.

The one that is referenced by people for Benson is this one:

https://www.amazon.com/charger-Nekteck-Charger-Adapter-Integrated/dp/B0172QQNBY

No official review, but in a comment in this thread, he says: "I haven't been reviewing car chargers as much as the A-to-C cables, but I like the Nekteck 5.4A charger. I use it day to day with my 5X." Take that as you will.

u/ParrotofDoom · 1 pointr/GooglePixel

I got this one:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0172QQNBY

Works perfectly. Looks like a quality item, arrives in a very nice box, all shiny, no mould marks.

u/dualactioncomplete · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

Not to my experience. I can access the advanced battery settings and disable fast charge easily. Since I tested wireless charging that option now appears as well.

The Fast charge option is only lit if connected to a compatible charger, doesn't matter if its a sammy or not.

As for the Car Charger, I'm using This

u/wutsdasqrtofdisapt · 1 pointr/GooglePixel

I recently bought this charger and am really happy with it. I get rapid charging in the car which is usually when I need it most. Definitely recommend it.

u/JayKayne · 1 pointr/GooglePixel

https://www.amazon.com/charger-Nekteck-Charger-Adapter-Integrated/dp/B0172QQNBY

Yeah that's the only thing holding me back is they haven't reviewed it. But the reviews are great and I haven't heard any issues.

u/NickMc53 · 1 pointr/GooglePixel

I apparently saved the Nekteck charger mentioned in the thread you linked to, not the charger that you linked.

The Blitzwolf is apparently a rebranding of the charger I linked in this comment.

My fault.
