From what I know about Hinduism, there are actually millions of combinations of mind and its afferent body.
The mind-bodies are archetypes for a variety of desires. All these archetypes exist at a subtle level and, as the creation unfolds they physically manifest. Whenever there are souls with the proper state of consciousness, they are inserted into that body in order to experience that particulat states of consciousness.
