Wireless, but not mechanical :'(
Late to the party but I have a Nexus 7 as well. One little known fact is that Android Tabletes are compatible with USB Keyboards which will make your life easier. I picked up a cheap OTG Cable for the ever-popular Nexus Media Importer app and fooling around before a vacation I took my +3 years old wireless bluetooth keyboard and stuck the USB/bluetooth dongle into the OTG Cable. Drivers were downloaded and I was typing away in Google Docs in seconds. Essentially plug-n-play capabilities
