I use a Vick's Thermometer. It isn't a basal thermometer.

Likes:

big light up display. I can see it without my glasses, when I am still bleary-eyed barely awake (also color coded for fever) and haven't turned on the light. When it registers your temp it beeps and lights up
Reads in just a couple of seconds
Displays last temp taken when you turn it on
Reads to the 1/10th degree
Has a case

Dislikes:
it beeps too much. It does 3-4 double beeps before lighting up the background up so you can see the temp in the dark. (you can see it before the background lights up if you have a light on)
