You can get some the plug into the cig lighter or fuse panel with a fuse tap. If you do the fuse tap, do not tap an always-on fuse. You'll drain your battery. It's not hard to install, trickiest part is finding a place to run the wire if you don't want to take off any panels. I was able to just tuck the cable behind the trim though with no problem. I only have the front. Rear in my opinion isn't as important. Plus rear you can't take out nearly as easy to protect against theft. The front one I have has a quick release to quickly unmount it. But you can also get suction cup mounts that are easy to take off. I bought this one and it's been good so far.

This is the one I bought:

and this is the power mgmt that monitors your battery while the car is turned off so it doesn't drain. You connect it directly to the fuse box with a fuse tap:

I've always had a front facing dash cam, the cheap kind, now I'm not skimping and getting one that will always be on. That one is new, has a great rating and records in 2K and uses a capacitor instead of a regular Lithium battery (that usually die because of extreme heat/cold)

The same company makes a well regarded dual camera system as well.

No problem, wanted to give you an update tho. I ended up going with an Opia2 because of all the great reviews it got. For me I was looking for the best quality image.

I also really like how you can swivel the camera around to any angle.

Hope you find what works best for you!

TBH not many people ask for it:

  • Vicovation Opia 2 ($289.99 USD) 2nd vendor ($244.95 USD)

It also went up in price? annoyance level high. Good build quality, Good picture quality, lackluster park mode - fair assessment of it?
