This is my collection thus far, a lot of quality but inexpensive options. Looking to consolidate and add a few more pieces. Any recommendations? I would love to discuss!
Left to right, Top to Bottom:
My second or third smart watch. Doesn't get worn a ton but is awesome at the gym and for travelling. Still in my opinion the quintessential smart watch. Put on a NATO Strap.
Love this watch. Really shows the quality and longevity of Seiko watches. Believed to be from the 80's. Put on a cheapo strap.
I really wanted a watch with a power reserve. The blue hands on this piece are mesmerizing. May be seeing its way out of the collection soon. Really only gets worn with a suit. Put on a blue stitched canvas strap.
One of my first watches, unfortunately will probably see it's way out of the box shortly. Bought mainly due to my love of the Victorinox Cadet, and this piece matches my EDC multi tool perfectly. Put on a Nato strap to match the overall toughness of this piece.
Bought off Ebay from Russia, went through customs for about 3 weeks, and now finally here! Recently got back from service and needs some finishing work, but man this is a nice piece. Patina is perfect, wears super comfortably & is definitely a conversation piece at the office. I have a bit of a soft spot for vintage Russian watches. A Raketa Big Zero will hopefully be added very soon. Put on a Russian made leather strap/
Bought as a cheap watch to go to the beach with in the Summer. Now its been Hydro Modded with a silicon 1cst oil, and gets worn regularly to test the effects of hydro modding a quartz movement. I now love this piece, and yes, the hydro mod is as neat as it seems. The Sinn Hydro is a grail, but until then this will do! Next I hope to do this to a hand wound mechanical. On the original rubber strap for now, however it spends most it's time on a canvas strap.
Obviously to fill the void of a "Pepsi" bezel Sub. Have had a few issues with the spring bars bending on the original SS bracelet, so they are upgraded StrapCode bars on a NATO. The blue dial on this piece is shocking at this price. Highly recommended. Oh, and also, am I the only one that prefers to the 2 crown older models? Sure the movement isn't as good as the newer ones, but just a minor detail that I love. On a black/red Nato, mainly because I cannot justify buying a StrapCode for more than the price of the watch. Looks great on a SS bracelet though!
Father's watch. Enough said there. Am looking to add a Sea Master soon.
Ordered this piece one night, late, after a few drinks. Didn't realize it was quartz until it arrived, but this is a beautiful piece. My Father was an aircraft mechanic, so the hands on this made me pull the trigger. Junkers is a great brand! Very good quality, and I believe the only watch that still has it's original strap on it!
Orion is easily my favorite watch brand right now. Nick is doing some awesome things and I love to help support that! This is one of my most recent purchases, and Orion's new Calamity Diver will probably be next! Although this is not on it's original strap, with is amazingly comfortable, this tan strap really makes it awesome.
Atomic, solar, negative display & a tide function?! This is the perfect GShock for me. On a "Nato" strap from JaysAndKays on Ebay.
Bought on /r/Watchexchange . This is a very subtly modded watch to remove some of the unsightly branding and text. I'm a big fan of the "modded but looks original" aesthetic. Put on a cheapo strap. Nice mix of dress and sport.
EDIT:
Honorable Mentions. Oris from 1970's & POBEDA POLJOT from 1953. These will soon be modded into pocket watches.
Get him something that would be considered "Every Day Carry". A Victorinox Swiss Army Knife is a present that is always useful and you can find nice ones that last forever for $25 or so. The Cadet is a good starter knife if he doesn't already carry a pocket knife.

Everyone needs a Swiss Army Knife. :) It's the kind of thing that you never realized how much you needed one till you have one, then it comes in handy all the time.
