I use a Vortex Crossfire II 2-7x32 and love it. Very clear glass and a good eye box. It is a little more than your budget though. I usually sit around 3-5x

Nikon has a 3-9x for $90. I've heard they make good stuff but never used it.

I've heard Pinty is good if you're on a budget. Again, never used it.

I've heard the UTG bugbuster 3-9x is good. The onyl experience I have with UTG is their 1-4.5x which I like and their 3x magnifier which I did not like.

The Visionking 1.25-5x would be good. I very rarely go above 5x, and even then it's just for spotting.

I know you said you are capped at $100, but for slightly more you can get a Nikon or a Vortex which is a whole other level of quality. Check these out:

Vortex Crossfire II is also a great scope and a little cheaper. You can get a cheap set of Vortex Hunter rings to mount it for $20.

Showed you guys and gals my first rifle the other day, a Diamondback 5.56 w/ basic Magpul furniture. I received some feedback about the scope and the not so ergonomic position it was in, which is nothing I ever thought of, even with my face buried into the stock. Ordered a Primary Arms basic scope mount for 30mm sized tubes with 1” rings. The chinesium scope I had did not make the cut for the mount, which I’m pretty sure cost more than the scope itself, so I made the decision to invest in an optic that’s worth mounting. I’m very happy with how it looks, along with the most important part with quality of glass, distance, and overall clarity.

You want this particular Mk. II as opposed one the cheaper ones because it has the AccuTrigger.

Personally, because I live in one of the many states that let's it's citizens have nice things, I would save up a bit more for this, and slap one of these, one of these and one of these on it.

Nikon has a ProStaff Rimfire with BDC Reticle, 3-9 x 40mm https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SMX95IA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_61iJzbVBWHYPE

For 22's I prefer a smaller scope with less magnification like Vortex Optics Crossfire II 2-7x32 Rifle Scope, Dead-Hold BDC Reticle (CF2-31003) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0106BYBPM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_86iJzbEWQ86BS because I'm not taking 400+ yard shots

Not quite $100 but a Vortex Crossfire II 2-7x is what I have on my 10/22 with Vortex low hunter rings. There isn't much out there under $100 that isn't crap for magnified optics. Supposedly the Bushnell TRS-25 and Primary Arms Microdot are solid if you're ok with a red dot and want <$100.

I have the Vortex Crossfire 2-7 and I like it a lot. You just don’t have a 1x, but it’s better than the fish eye of the 1-6 Strike Eagle.
