Actually, that’s the plot of a comic book with this subreddits name as the title.

There's The Death of Stalin by Fabian Nury and Thierry Robin. I only learned of it yesterday. There are 2 volumes out, and I think it's still ongoing.

I think it's digital-only. I saw volume 1 on iTunes for $5.

Somewhat related, there's also Cuba: My Revolution by Inverna Lockpez and Dean Haspiel. It's really about Cuba, obviously, but I thought it might interest you.

We Stand On Guard isn't as much about history, but I thought you might be interested. It's about a war between the US and Canada 100 years in the future.
