Rinse with peroxyl/orajel (or just 50/50 water and hydrogen peroxide) four times a day; after every meal and before bed. Brush with salt toothpaste. This will cut healing time down quite a bit.
To speed up healing:
Use salt toothpaste instead of your regular kind.
Only drink water.
Avoid acidic foods like citrus.
