Most are vintage, but some that have been reprinted (and therefore easily accessible) are:

• Glamourdaze's scans of period beauty magazines/books - inexpensive and has info from the 20s-60s
  
  
• Westmore Beauty Book - Written by several members of the legendary Westmore family (the Hollywood makeup artists of the time), this one is very in depth and almost scientific at times. The copyright was purchased and it is still being printed in paperback.
  
  
  
• Beauty, Glamour and Personality - also written by a Westmore. Not quite as long as the 50s guide, but it's a different era (40s).
  
  
• Makeup - 1930s instruction and technique
  
  
  

Love this! The Bombshell Manual of Style and Your Beauty Mark are two of the best beauty books I’ve ever read!

The Westmore books ~ Westmore Beauty Book -- A Complete 1950s Guide to Vintage Makeup, Hairstyling and Beauty Techniques ~ are great too, written by some of the most prominent makeup artists of Old Hollywood. It’s fun for beauty history buffs and there are some interesting concepts!

I also like The Elegant Woman by Eunice Leong, and her blog by the same title >> The Elegant Woman .

The Madame Chic ~ Lessons from Madame Chic: 20 Stylish Secrets I Learned While Living in Paris ~ books are great too. They’re all on Amazon, you can get them on Kindle. Any books that laud elegance and charm are must-reads for me. I’m always looking to upgrade in this department in every novel way I can. 💖
