I prefer silicone based lubes with no flavor/color/scent/unnecessary things. Silicone is great because it stays in place and doesn't evaporate and get tacky like water based lubes. It's also condom safe and great for massages. I've even been known to use a dot to calm down post-sex hair.
My favorite is Wet Platinum. It's cheap and does the job.

In my experience, a little goes a long way. Try just a small squirt of lube or a single pump if it's a pump-based container (which I recommend for ease of use and gives in my opinion, a proper amount per single pump).

Water-based lubes are good for vaginal sex and are compatible with silicone-based toys (a large variety of toys are made from silicone). One nice thing about the water-based lubes is that they can be "re-hydrated" with spit or some water (some people have a spray bottle). You can't re-hydrate the lube forever as it does absorb into the skin but this will make the lube last longer. Personally, I recommend Probe Lube. It has minimal ingredients and should give you that "friction" feeling that you had mentioned.
Silicone-based lubes don't get absorbed into the skin like water lubes. Because of this, silicone lube lasts longer than water-based lubes. the down-side is that silicone toys are incompatible with silicone toys (the lube and toy will fuse together which usually ruins the toy). I recommend Wet Platinum Silicone Lube.
To fix the incompatibly with silicone toys and lube, I highly recommend metal or glass toys.

I don't think so. I don't know if you need to apply it on the lips themselves (on the outside at least). You want to lubricate the inside which you seem to be doing.

There might be but it kind of depends on how you handle anal. You might have to experiment with less or more lube. The reason people say lots of lube is mostly because the anus is delicate. too much friction can potentially cause micro-tears and bleeding and of course can be painful. some people can have anal without lube but it's better to have some lube rather than none in my opinion. I almost always recommend silicone lube for anal sex because water-based lubes will get quickly absorbed. I don't think I have ever used too much lube for anal because the sphincters (there are 2 in the anus) are what cause alot of the feeling of tightness. But you also have to consider what is too much. I would try a 1 or 2 pumps of a silicone lube and see how that works. Apply more as needed.
